We are holding a series of Legacy tournaments in Columbus, Ohio leading up to the Grand Prix. Some of you have expressed interest in legacy in Columbus. Those of you from the midwest have no excuse! Come out and play. Our last event was a great success so we wish to build upon it!

To summarize:

What: Legacy tournament

Entry is $15

Where: The Soldiery

4256 N. High St.

Columbus, Ohio 43214

When: April 1, 2007

Prizes: Will be based upon attendance. Last time we gave away
1st: $200
2nd: $120
3rd:$60
4th:$20

Regardless of attendance, $200 is GUARANTEED to be given away, like last time.

Registration starts at 12:30. Tournament begins at 1pm sharp.
Tournament will probably run until around 8-9pm.

Swiss with cut to top 8 (unless low attendance, cut to top 4).

Also: this event will be sanctioned and judged. Don't forget your DCI number! With GP: Columbus coming up after the event, this is a good place to test your deck or cut your teeth on the Legacy format.

Hope you can make it!

This is gonna be good. I will see you all there, and I might even play a decent deck. That's a lofty goal for me, but we'll see how it turns out.

This is going to be one of the last opportunities to really explore Legacy before the grand prix!  Most importantly, this is in Columbus!!!!!

In fact, we are the ONLY legacy  tournament in Columbus, Ohio before the Grand Prix arrives.

You are in fact wrong, Steve. There is a GPT here on 4/29/07, and on 5/18/07, with the GP itself on the 19th. Not to mention the Legacy tourney for a Time Walk at that little "con" at Westerville North High School.

Do you have more info about that Time Walk event?

I don't know all the technical aspects of it, but if you call Comic Town Westerville, they'll be able to fill you in. I do know that the Con registration is like $10 and then the tournament reg is $10. It's on Saturday April 28, 2007, at:

Westerville North High School
950 County Line Rd.
Westerville, OH 43081
Ph: (614) 751-5008

The following stores are sponsoring it and can answer any specifics I haven't covered:

Comic Town Westerville
320 S State St
Westerville, OH  43081
Ph: (614) 890-8338

Dave’s Clubhouse
1733 Brice Rd
Reynoldsburg, OH  43068
Ph: (614) 751-5008
(I didn't even realize this store existed)

Also, if you would like to email their customer support, he can be reached at vhfanboy5150@yahoo.com

I think that there will be 6 or 7 of us riding with Mark Trogdon from the Cleveland area. This tournament should be a blast like always! There is also Thurmans to look forward to after the tournament!

For sure. The Thurman's Experience™ is something to write home about. Except for the fact that I'm likely going home after, so I guess I'll just tell 'em as always!

See you there!

Legacy is a horrible format.

On another note, Yay for seeing Aluren get first. Which list was Paul using?

Man, I wish I could've gone to more of these.

A lot of fun, and it was great meeting the Meandeckers.

A (very) brief recap:
Round 1: Doug Lynn with Affinity (2-0)  (Not bad for my first Meandeck encounter)
Round 2: Nam Tran with Angel Stax (2-0)  (Nam Tran is still powerless to stop me. (I'm jus' playin'.))
Round 3: Dylen Brown with Affinity (2-1)  (*sigh*.  What a boring matchup.)
Round 4: Spence (ID)  (Hooray for being 3-0!)
Round 5: Mark Trogdon with Burn (ID)  (I'm so glad I didn't have to play this matchup.)
Top 8: Dave Doughtery with BWHC Landstill (1-2)  (worst. matchup. ever.  It was damn fun, though, 'cause Dave was great, and we had Mastriano and Menendian (as well as 3/4s of the rest of the crowd) watching us and providing some interesting commentary.  Despite bein an awful matchup for me, the games were very, very intense, and really close.  But uncounterable, recurrable 4/4s with First Strike are some good, I hear.)

I have no idea why I have to keep running into Affinity/Stax.  Something about Fish, I guess...I used the same list as the one I used at the most recent Garden City Event, which is in the UWb Fish thread

I have to say, for my first trip into Buckeye-ville, it wasn't too bad.  You guys have much better roads than we do. (Aside from the whole dog thing.  But the cop was pretty cool).  S'all good.

Round 2: Matt aka Hazard w/ Uwb Fish (2-0)
Round 3: Steve aka Smmenen w/ IGGy (2-1)
Round 4: Richard aka KrzyMoose w/ Uwb Fish (ID)
Round 5: Paul aka Mr. Type 4 w/ Aluren (ID)

Top 8:
Quarterfinals: Steve aka Smmenen w/ IGGy (0-2)

Increased turnout this time too.  Grats to all that top 8'd.

This was a blast, as always and finishing in the money makes it even sweeter. My opponents were all great sports and we had some epic games. All I can say is thanks to everyone that made this fun, and thanks to Fact, Standstill and Pernicious Deed for being that damn busted.

Hope to see you all in about a month!
