I'm looking to make a card that will play well with green creatures but that was flavourful at the same time. This is what I came up with:

Enriched Soil
Enchantment
GG
Green creature spells you control cost 1 less for each green creature in your graveyard.

Here's my reasoning:
[Apologies if this is too simplistic.] In nature things die, decompose and, in decomposing, nourish the soil. The nourished soil is a place where plants can grow better and creatures have better/more plants with which to grow better/faster.

It allows you to benefit from your creatures hitting the bin when you cast more creatures. It's restricted to green creatures on both the reduction and casting sides so it will really only be useful in Mono or near Mono-G decks. Add a mono green CC and you have a card that says "I'm going to play creatures, they'll die & fuel more creatures." It's not trying to do silly things, just keep those creatures coming cheaper & cheaper.

Revised wording:

Enriched Soil
Enchantment
GG
Green creatures you play cost 1 less to play for each green creature card in your graveyard.

I kind of like it, though there may be a super-broken combo lying in it somewhere.  You want to re-word it
"Green creature spells you play cost 1 less to play..."

I like it.  It needs to be:

"Green creatures you play cost {1} less to play for each green creature card in your graveyard."

I actually noticed this about 30 seconds after it was first posted, and I have been trying to figure out what's broken about it ever since.  I really don't think there's anything abusive, even though it really seems like there would be.  That makes it very interesting as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I've been thinking about this for a while before I posted it. There really would need to be some sort of engine involved. I'm thinking either creatures that sac for effects like STE or some sort of altar and Glimpse of Nature.

What do you think of the cost? Is GG enough? I came up with Tangleroot/Soil/Glimpse/Elves combo during the weekend that could be built but at 3/GG/G/x is pretty expensive and it's a 4 card combo so..... It seems like the sort of combo that would be allowed given that it will soon only be legal in the eternal formats.

The only danger I see in this card is Dredge is also a green ability.  So dredging up a golgari gravetroll in a creature heavy deck .... then droping a 5/5 for {G} seems really powerful. I guess its not that bad because green has bad draw engins.   I would feel more comfortable with a nightsoil approch...

Remove two green creature cards in your graveyard from the game:  Green creature spells you play cost {1} less until end of turn.

Its a signifigantly weaker effect, but I think it still is very abusable.

I think Survival of the Fittest is probably the most effective enabler for this card.  I threw together a deck using both of them and goldfished it for a while, though, and while it would be a great casual deck, I don't think it would be any kind of competitive danger.

The card seems like a lot of fun.

I think the card is fine. Well-designed and not overpowered. Dropping a 5/5 for {G} isn't that bad considering all the hoops you have to go through: Play a {G} {G} Enchantment, get a Golgari Grave-Troll in the graveyard, wait for your draw step. It's unlikely that five of the six dredged cards will be creatures. I don't see this getting that abusive.

How about choosing a non-legend creature? Otherwise he is a UG instant Wrath of Frog.

One thing which might keep this from being broken is that it encourages you to fill your deck with with overcosted green fat.
