Greetings to all who are interested in attending the upcoming Myriad Games Yawg Will Free Tournament.

Based on interest from our original poll, we will be hosting this tournament on one of two upcoming dates. Both days are Sundays to avoid interfering with other weekend events.

The first date we're considering is March 25th, back to back with our next Vintage tournament on March 24th. We would run our regular event on Saturday and the Sunday tournament the following day. This would allow those traveling from a distance to stay overnight at one our local hotels (we have a Holiday Inn and La Quinta right around the corner and a Red Roof about a half mile down the road) and consolidate travel for the two events. It would be a Magica Myriad  Weekend Extravaganza with myriad side events for both events. If we choose this option, we will be adding some sort of small bonus for players who attend both days.

The second date under consideration is Sunday, April 1st. Aside from the obvious bonus of running this tournament on April Fool's Day, this would spread out the events between two weekends, which may be easier for some schedules.

In either case, we will beginning registration for this Sunday tournament at 10 AM and the tournament starting at 11 AM, an hour earlier than our Saturday events. This will allow the event to finish earlier and allow people more time in the evening.

We would like to finalize the date promptly in order to give people ample notice to plan.

GP: Massachusetts is the weekend of March 31st / April 1st.

If you think that will affect your attendance, please post to that end.

So far it appears that 50% can make it on Sunday, March 25th (Back to Back Weekend with our March 24th event) and 77.8% can make it on Sunday, April 1st (GP: Massachusetts).

I would prefer March 25, so that's what I voted for.  However if it were to occur on April 1 I would likely still attend.  With gas prices the way they are, I think a hotel room might be cheaper than a round trip to NH - thats why I voted for the 25th.

Also you may not want to put "Free" next to "Tournament."  When I read the header, I thought for a second that the tournament was going to be free

Good Point. Perhaps Yawg-Will-Free Tournament? I'm trying to avoid using "Vintage Lite" or "Vintage Less Yawgmoth's Will = ?"

I'll likely just make up a big picture of Yawgmoth's Will with a "No Smoking" red banned sign across is (circle with a diagonal line) and then put tournament below that and an explanation in the description.

I should have this all figured out by mid-to-late this week so that people can start making definitive plans.

I would like to attend this but i'm moving on the 24th and i'm definitely going to be GPing it up. But if i was to attend it would be more likely on the 25th.

We'll be basing the decision on both this feedback and comments from local players. We hope that no matter which date ends up being used, that everyone who's interested will make an effort to attend.

This event will be held on March 25th back-to-back with our regular Vintage Tournament on March 24th.

This will avoid overlap with GP: Massachusetts and allow people who are traveling from a distance to stay overnight and attend both events.
