The purpose of this poll is to determine interest in a Legacy event here at Myriad Games, in Salem, NH.

The event would be sanctioned and would therefore not allow proxies. It would most likely be run back-to-back with one of our monthly Vintage events (Vintage on Saturday, Legacy on Sunday). If there's enough interest in a standalone Saturday Legacy event, we can take that into consideration as well.

Prizes would follow the same scaling structure as our regular Vintage events, with 100% prize payout in Myriad Money which can be used toward anything at the store including Magic singles, sealed product, supplies, not to mention the wide variety of board and card games we carry.

Thanks to everyone who's voted so far. We'll run this poll for a bit to determine overall interest. If you haven't voted yet, and you're from the local area, please do so. Please do not vote if you would not attend due to being outside the local area.

I know this sounds stupid, but I still think that a five or so proxy limit should be legal, because I'd imagine that a majority of the players who read this play mainly Vintage, and do not own, or have the desire to buy, all the cards to put together most viable Legacy decks. For example, not every player wants, or owns, four Scrublands, simply because they would come of no use to you elsewhere, and a playset costs around 80 bucks.

Just my 0.02 cents.

depending on when this is I would make the trip from CT. What do you expect for a entry fee? I would be able to carry another person also if anyone would be willing to help chip in for gas.

Entry and prizes would mirror our Vintage events, so $25 and scaling structure paying out 100% toward player's choice of prizes for the Top 8 along with ancillary prizes for other players.

I have never played in a legacy event, but if Myriad is holding one, I am there.  I am sure that there would be a strong showing, since a lot of the local standard competitive players would want to get involved.

Is there also a chance of it being sanctioned Dan?

Seems like a cool idea.

Hey Dan, this is Rich Meyst. I know for sure I would get about 4-5 people up for one of these. Especially if you get one up and running before Grand Prix Columbus. Most competitive constructed players would also make it as a warm up for the Grand Prix. Def a good idea.

I would like to go, depending on work and research getting in the way. Def have it be sacntioned though, that will draw a lot more people getting ready for Columbus. In fact, I bet if you help a bunch of these they all would be well attended.

Yeah what rich said i have little to no interest in legacy but since the GP is coming up if you advertise it where people that play real magic go like starcity you'd probably get people who are planning on attending the GP to go

Thanks all for the feedback. We'll ascertain interest on The Source as well and determine where to go from there. I concur that having it as a lead up to GP Columbus would be excellent.
