The purpose of this poll is to determine interest in a sanctioned Vintage event here at Myriad Games, in Salem, NH.

The event would be sanctioned and would therefore not allow proxies.

Prizes would follow the same scaling structure as our regular Vintage events, with 100% prize payout in Myriad Money which can be used toward anything at the store including Magic singles, sealed product, supplies, not to mention the wide variety of board and card games we carry.

I would be very interested and excited about this.  My only issue with Proxies is they have killed off Sanctioned Magic.  I killed my rating with poor showings at two big events, and would love to at least have the chance to climb that ladder again.

I voted "No" ...
No-proxy vintage interestests me the least out of all the eternal formats.  I would rather do a proxy vintage highlander100 tourney (for example).

All that being said, If there was enough interest in this, I would likely go to Myriad and play.  If for no other reason that because I like playing magic at Myriad.  In order of intrest for me:
1) Proxy vintage
2) No-Proxy Legacy
3) Proxy Legacy
4) "Player Constructed" Eternal Format (like the will-less tourney, or highlander, or whatever other deal)
5) No-Proxy Vintage

Unfortunately, I own no awesome power cards...etc.
I bring fun decks to Myriad all the time to confuse and amuse.
I think they'd put up even less of a fight if I didn't have any power in them.

I voted a big fat giant 'no' on this.

I have my deck pretty much un-proxied and am fortunate enough to where I could even borrow cards to play other fully powered decks...

but many people are not that fortunate.  Without proxies vintage just isn't what it could be.  Sure, vintage worlds has no proxies... yet they never seem to go over 150 people.  Imagine if it was proxied.  They'd probably get double that figure.

No proxies turns tournaments into 'have' and 'have not's,' with the have's winning every time.  That's just not a good way to generate new players to keep a consitent tourney flowing every month.

I'm not surprised that at the time of this writing 'no' is beating out the 'yes' by  a good margin.  If you hold this you'll be lucky to get 12 people.

That's my 2 cents.

I would be interested in this but its too bad there aren't that many fully powered people.  I know very very few people who can make competitive decks without proxies.

"After these years of arguing I've conceded that Merchant Scroll in particular can be an exception to this rule because it is a card that you NEVER want to see in multiples, under any circumstances. Merchant Scroll can be seen as restricted in a way because should you have 2 in a hand, only one is really useful (that is, only one can get Ancestral)."

This and the local feedback we've received is enough to determine that we won't be hosting sanctioned Vintage events for the foreseeable future. Legacy, on the other hand, is still a possibility.
