I have seen a lot of people questioning where they can find this patch, including myself at one point. I was given the link to another fairly well-known Magic forum, O-Gaming. Thank "Aramil" for providing it.

Below is the link to the thread on patch installations. It isn't too difficult to do, and gets the job done until the official MWS update is released.

Thanks a bunch for the link. It's hard to playtest a deck with a dozen filler cards in it. No more Aquamoebas and Bog Wraiths in Ichorid for me!

Heh, I did the same thing for a few days, and used "Ach, Hans, Run!", as well as other Unglued cards. This got a bit annoying, but luckily the problem was solved when JankGolem linked me to O-Gaming in IRC.

Excuse me because I havent played Magic in quite a few years.
Is MWS the platform most magic players are playing on now?
I looked up the program and it costs money to play or I can get the free version.
What is the scoop on this?

The free MWS patch is a perfectly acceptable platform.  (much better than Apprentice)

Soime of us actually gave them the 20$ for a registered version because it is a quality product.

Is it worth it?  It is to me.  Is it needed? Not by a long shot.

Is there another connection on MWS that everyone uses?
The default connection is MWSplay and it seems I couldn't find that many T1 players on it.
Is there a ManaDrain connection?

No, but there should be. Someone should talk to Jeek about spawning his bot into a #TMD_PlayMWS room or something. I'd head it up, but I'm only on IRC a few hours here and there.

I also suggested doing so, but I doubt there would be very many people connected at once.

As for ArthurKing's questions:

I myself really like Magic Workstation. It's never difficult to get a game going for any format. Type 2, and Extended players are on it most, but there are usually a few Vintage players (some of which use TMD) on there (in MWSplay) at almost all times. Your opponents can be from all over the world, which can be either good, or bad. Unfortunately for some, not everyone in our world speaks the same language, so you may find yourself playing someone who is trying to talk to you in French, but you are sitting behind your monitor having little idea of what is really going on. Although, foreign players can still be good players, and great people to talk to, but if you still choose to avoid such occurances, you can use the software at certain times a day. (E.G. not at 1AM)

Overall, I like MWS over Apprentice, and has proven to be a fun way to play the game.

There was a TMD MWS channel, but it was never used. I forgot who, but some user just ran it off his computer. Once he realized no one was ever on, he stopped doing it.
