I'm trying to build a casual deck and I need to know if this works.

Sorrow's Path

Oracle text: Tap: Choose two target blocking creatures an opponent controls. If each of those creatures could block all creatures that the other is blocking, remove both of them from combat. Each one then blocks all creatures the other was blocking. Sorrow’s Path deals 2 damage to you and 2 damage to each creature you control.

If you Donate Sorrow's path to an opponent with an active Icy Manipulator can you tap Sorrow's Path to cause two damage to the opponent?

Alas, this does not work. That is because the damage part is part of the activation. Comparing this with city of brass:

Quote
Whenever City of Brass becomes tapped, it deals 1 damage to you.
Tap: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.

you will see what the difference is. Killing your opponent using the icy on a city will work. Combining it with the path is a little bit more difficult.

After reading the oracle text I thought it wouldn't work, but I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks for the quick reply.

After building my "Killer Mox Deck" where the goal was to kill my opponent with an Animated Mox (via Castle, Giant Growth and Berzerk etc), my buddy Jason decided to make a Killer Sorrow's Path deck.

Animate it for the win.

That and Mindslaver are the only ways you can win with Sorrow's Path.  and the Mindslaver thing is really a Mindslaver win.

I guess I'm just going to have to rely on psychic venom.
