My opponent has 2 Dimir Cutpurses in play and attacking.  They are 2/2's with the following ability:

Whenever Dimir Cutpurse deals combat damage to a player, that player discards a card and you draw a card.

I have a Triskellion in play with only TWO +1/+1 counters (making him a 3/3).  And I have 1 card in hand.  Triskellion has the ability:

Remove a +1/+1 counter: Deal 1 damage to target creature or player.

I assign Triskellion to block Cutpurse A.  Cutpurse B is unblocked.  We go to combat damage step.

Combat damage is assigned, Trisk deal combat damage to cutpurse A, who is dealing 2 to Trisk.  Cutpurse B assigns 2 damage to me.

With combat damage assigned and on the stack, I remove the last 2 counters from triskellion to destroy Cutpurse B.  There are no other responses and the stack resolves.  Cutpurse B takes lethal and is put into the yard, then combat damage resolves.  The Trisk who is now a 1/1 takes lethal, and cutpurse A takes lethal.  I take 2 combat damage.

Question:  Cutpurse B dealt combat damage to me... Will the ability still trigger even though it's not in play?

No. The Cutpurse has to be in play to "see" combat damage being dealt, otherwise it won't trigger.
