We have a little information over at MTS, but I can't seem to find any updates on Wizards' homepage.  Anyone else having any luck getting updates for the biggest Legacy event of the year?

Menedian is on the bubble, I think he's at 18 points and needs to win for a 7-2 record to make day 2.

Congrats to a number of ICBM players who made it.  I@n DeGraff is in the 50s or something.  Owen T. is in 4th place last time I checked!  Nice job dude.  You guys are just lucky nobody on GWS cares about Legacy Smile

BTW--what is the cutoff for day 2?  I thought it was 64, but I'm obviously wrong.

883 players > the cutoff 800, so the top 128 make it in.

Out of curiosity, how/why was Jack Elgin unbanned for this event?

I haven't been able to get the full story about that one yet.  I think that some sort of exception was made, but I don't know that for a fact.

We have started a Day 2 Update thread.

BTW, the reason Jack Elgin was allowed to play is that he told Andy Heckt he's joining the army and Andy gave him special dispensation to play. According to that thread on the Source.

Sadly, they do not. This is taken directly from the Grand Prix fact sheet:

Quote
In the event that a player who wins an invitation to a Pro Tour stop at a Grand Prix has already qualified for an invitation, the invitation does not pass down under any circumstances. Previous qualification may be through a Qualifier tournament, through performance at a professional tournament, or by being an invited DCI player (valid upon the date of the official rank announcement for the appropriate professional tournament).

I'm having Paul Nicolo's babies.

This was said just last week.

Maybe he will have changed his mind.

Congrats to Owen.  I'll be sure to smash you at some Vintage event while you proceed to not care with your several thousand dollar win Smile  Oh, and booooo for playing Goblins.

Congrats to I@n too.  Cool deck man.

Nice finish Steve.  I read that you had a few slightly above average plays.
