I found out more about the event on the Source. $25 entry for a Pearl + mediocre prize support for the rest of the top 8 = we won't be able to make it. Maybe it will be worth the drive/entry when you guys hold another Lotus tournament.

What he didn't mention on MTS is that he would show because his event fee is being paid for by someone else..

Guys show to this thing, let's get the legacy blood flowin.

Pre-register by calling the phone number in the original post.....Pay in advance.....They take credit cards, and you'll get your $5 off....Just do it before the day of the tourney and you'll be fine.....

Dammit Jon.  I PM'ed Paul and never heard back from him.  Would have a spot for you too if I would've known earlier.  If you happen to be looking at this and then call me quick as hell, I can meet you at RIW about 9:30.

In fact we'll swing by RIW on the way anyways.  PM you my number

While I couldn't make it, I did call up my friend Mike at the store for results. This is what he gave me:

25 people showed up and they gave away the Pearl. Possible Emerald tourney in mid September due to nice turnout.

Jason Gerky (spelling?) won with UGW Thresh
Carl Wauer took second with TES

Others in the top8:
Faerie Stompy
UGR Gro
WBU Fishlike Goodstuff (Withered Wretch, Meddling Mage, Dark Confidant, Silver Knight)
Life.dec

In the field
1-2 Goblins
2 Solidarity
Lots of Thresh/Gro (15)

Congrats to the those in the top8!

Who would've guessed it would be all 'Goyf on 'Goyf action?  Rolling Eyes

Seems like the meta is all Aggro-Control feat. 'Goyf.  But, then again, he is like the best creature evar.

'Grats to all who Top 8'ed.

I top 8'ed, but lost in the quarterfinals to the man who won the mox, with BWG Brew. My own thing but based on hanni's base and such. I am pretty sure this is the first time since people have been working on the deck that it has placed in a kind of big tournament. Go me. I am writing a report soon but overall very nice tournament. Looking foreward to the others.

I predicted the "Tarmogoyf Invasion" and packed 3x Threads of Disloyalty in my board, which were king! They stole Confidants, Tarmogoyfs, Jotun Grunts, et al.

I had a ton of fun at this one. Looking forward to the next one in September!

People conceded to me when I gained infinite life. That was neat.

Sad to hear that nobody was relying on Welders and Uba Masks to get around this...

1) It's WAUER, I am in no way related to Matt Lauer, sorry.  Pronounced the same with a W at the beginning.
2) Anyhow, Yeah, 'goyth vs 'goyth as far as the eye can see.  I am so glad I didn't play Threshold with Goyths!  Caboose, you were awesome, and I am sorry my friend didn't think it was safe to scoop you into top 8.
3)  The other deck that made top for is a BRW Homebrew which is not getting seeped, even though I know the entire deck because I have been helping with the development of it for over a year and a half.  I also beat the deck Goodstuff in the top 4, though I never saw much of the good stuff.

Caboose, you were awesome, and I am sorry my friend didn't think it was safe to scoop you into top 8.

Which time? The Boros player in round 4 who not only could have scooped me in, but ended up beating me after I punted the match by forgetting to block? Or my opponent in round 5 who wouldn't scoop me in because his friend (who had literally no chance to top 8) asked him not to? I'm not upset, because both of the guys who wouldn't scoop me in were awesome guys, but I was a little disappointed in both of their decisions.

No worries though! I fully plan on going to the next Mox event!  Wink

Round Four, He wanted to make sure him and I wouldn't get paired up until the fianls seeing as we were both going into the top eight probably at that point, aside from him losing both times, in which case I think his tiebreakers would of looked fine.
