first, workshops did incredibly well only after trinisphere was restricted - winning two major scgs, the vintage champs, and then the waterbury - all within 7 months of trinisphere's restriction.
Workshops did well after Trinisphere's restriction because:
1) They were taken for granted by many people, believing that without Trinisphere, Workshops could not compete.
2) Point one led to a lower amount of hate maindecked and sideboarded.
3) One of its worst matchups disappeared (Workshop Aggro)
4) The mediocre Workshop players jumped off the bandwagon, leaving behind mostly extremely competent players (Chang, Seroogy)
