Geez..havent been on here in half a year...

Anyways, was just looking through a bunch of random land that im selling and this came to mind:

XXNoNameXX

Land

All lands come into play untapped (this includes your opponent's lands).
You can only play one land per turn.

I want this card to have a mechanic that allows you to play one additional land per turn, but don't know where to start, possibly:

{4}: You may play one additional land this turn.

Possibly a pile of crap, but atleast its a new pile Smile

Current Wording:

XXNoNameXX

If a land would come into play tapped, instead it comes into play untapped.
{4}: You may play an additional land this turn.
{Tap}: Add one colorless mana to your mana pool.

I don't think that it's necessary to have "You can play only one land each turn" on the card.  That's already a rule of the game, so it shouldn't need to be repeated.  I am curious -- is there something about this land that you think is so novel that it merits the exclusion of a mana ability?

I would say that the ability, which might need to read, "If a land would come into play tapped, instead it comes into play untapped" really sounds like something that belongs on a green enchantment.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

No, no reason why this can not produce mana, I was thinking of it producing colorless but I didn't know if it would suit the card.

I didnt want this to get abused by fastbond/exploration with lands that produce multiple mana (ie, those new CIPT bounce lands). When I think about it though, that would be a 3-card combo, which isn't all that great.

How about:

XXNoNameXX

If a land would come into play tapped, instead it comes into play untapped.
{3}: You may play an additional land this turn.
{Tap}: Add one colorless mana to your mana pool.

For some reason, this just seems unbalanced, any ideas?

It's a 2 card combo if this can produce mana the turn it comes into play. You get a first turn  {1} (ok, not that great), second turn add  {1} to your pool, play a Karoo (untapped), tap it for  {U} {B} (for example), pay the effect allowing you to play an extra land this turn with the bounce ability on the stack, bounce this and replay it. You then get a second  {1}  from it. Untap turn 3, add  {1} to your pool, play a second Karoo, bouncing this and have  {1} {U} {U} {B} {B} available to you.

Probably a very good two card interaction. I'd put the ability cost  up to  {4} if it was a current standard card but otherwise it's pretty sweet for the older formats.
