Sam's Comics
862 E Main St
Meriden, CT 06450
(203) 634-3355

It's roughly 30 mins from Bristol (depending on how close to the highway you are).  It's just south of the 691 and 91 interchange.  The shop is on the corner across from a Wendy's and a Bank.

A group of us get together around 7~ish on Thursday night.  There are usually about 7 to 8 of us playing vintage, and we try to get a small $10 tourney going (organized by the store owner).  It's a relax enviorment with many tournement winning players.  Most of us play between 10 and 15 proxies ... but theres no real limit.  Prizes go to first and 2nd and its full pay out of entry in store credit (so usually $40:$30, or $50:$30).  I'll say that single card selection for vintage is 'wanting' ... also I wouldn't say the singles are 'competativly' priced.   But we mostly go for competative testing and to have some fun.

Were usually done somewhere between 11 and midnight.

Meh at least its in CT... do you ever do legacy. If you dont ill probably still bring 2 or 3 people up sometime but legacy is alot more convinient (have 2 different legacy decks already set, can probably gaurantee bringing 3 people)... plus you could get it sanctioned.

if there are local people who would like to play legacy who are comfortable having a few people in there home or anywhere we can play PM me. I could maybe do something at my house I only have table space to have 3 people over to play though.... I am looking for serious players, I am a real legacy afficianado ot the moment but I can play vintage with proxies.. Sams is nice, I have been there during the daytime to check out the store, but the drive is a little extensive and the time doesnt work out so great for me since I have to get up early for work in the mornings.... A weekend thing with players would be sweet if someone has space play

I'm in Avon, Connecticut, but I'm not sure if that helps much.

Edit: I remember hearing something about a "Matt's Sports Cards" in Somer.  Does this place exist anymore?

Somebody tell Chapin how counterbalance works?
