I recently stumbled upon an ad on craigslist for an entire beta p9 set, and I picked it up for $4700. Does anyone else have similar experiences? Please name the pieces of power in your deck/collection that are BB.

I actually had my full set all the way up to mixed alpha/beta BB before it was stolen. I'm back to an incomplete WB set, but I haven't made any effort to pick up new Vintage cards in about a year; once I start playing again, I'll probably get to work re-upgrading the set. The real challenge is going to be winning another Lotus.

I have a beta Sol Ring that's been plenty beat. Someone several years ago (before I owned it) tried to dress up the white spots on the border with crayon. Not sharpie - crayon!
Oh, and a fairly minty Beta Sapphire. But I'm probably the only person that would rather have UL power.

My power is a good mix of sharpie on lands and ELD proxies.
It just doesn't make good sense to hold on to things that cost that sort of money when the only tournament you could conceivably attend that doesn't allow proxies, sucks.
Granted, I break my own rule when it comes to german signed force of wills and foil japanese brainstorms.

Playing with Proxies sucks tho. I hate having to even play test with Proxies. I don't have many pimp foils yet, I'm working on finishing my 2nd set of power still. 4/9 Beta remaining to get (Lotus, Recall, Walk, Ruby). Playing with Proxies sucks tho. I hate having to even play test with Proxies. I find playing with Proxies only sucks when the cards are not immediately identifiable. A basic land with some sharpie on it requires extra thinking, but my proxies look like the real deal from across the room.  I currently have a Beta Lotus and Timetwister. I picked up the Lotus to trade it at my event on July 28th. The Twister I have had for a while. It is extremely minty, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. |

Quite a few people here own BB power, myself included, it's no big deal. It's also no big deal if people just have WB power, it works the same. And like Kowal said, there's advantages to not owning power as we're primarily a proxy format: you can spend thousands on something else instead.

I have 4 beta Islands and a beta Animate Dead. And maybe a BEB I think.
So yeah - I totally own beta.
Oh also, I used to have a Beta Berserk that a dog had chewed the bottom right corner off (I traded for it at like $35 to complete a playset). Later at a waterbury I traded it away for tons because some dude needed it as the last card to finish his beta set... he didn't care that it was basically unplayable.

One of my favorite benefits for owning power is that I can just proxy all the random cards that spring up for the current metagame so therefore I almost never really need to buy cards unless I want to.

I have a complete set of 4 Alpha Regenerations and Craw Wurms in mint condition. Also a Beta Pearl, which seems out of place among all my other WB stuff.

I have a Beta Lightning bolt. I call it the Beta Bolt. It's an instant that does 3 points of damage at instant speed, just like the Revised one.
