Yeah, I sure hope they are lulling before the shocking blue card of friday. I think black will be tonight. Sinkhole would be cool.

I don't think Portal will make the pre-Mirage criteria.

Khabal Ghoul is the next card. This is starting to cement the theory that all the remaining promotional cards will be in this set. I'll edit the list and items in BLUE will be suspected, not confirmed.

Khabal Ghoul....I figured it'd be in the set.

I'd be interested to see all what cards we think will be included in the set. Here's what I've compiled from other people's guesses and some of mine

Diminishing Returns
Contagion (and other cards for the pitch cycle)
Order of Leitbur
Order of the Ebon Hand
Hymn to Tourach
Ball Lightning
Maze of Ith
Mishra's Factory
Serendib Efreet
ESG
Chains of Meph
In the Eye of Chaos
Sinkhole
Reset
High Tide
Nether Void
Red Blast / Pryoblast
Blue Blast / Hydroblast
Nevinyrral's Disk
Tivadar's Crusade
Crusade
Tinder Wall
Lim-Dul's Vault
Force of Will
Sylvan Library

I'm thinking that they're going to print Brainstorm, Gorilla Shaman, and STP in this set too even though they are available in Coldsnap precons.

Necropotence and Demonic Consultation I just don't see happening. I'd like to see Grim Tutor, but I don't see that happening in this set for reasons Z stated.

Do you think any of those cards won't get printed? What cards can we add to that list?

I *think* Worth said somewhere that these are all never-before-released-on-MTGO cards.

Tinder Wall was also printed.

I think that all in your list is mostly expected, except Chains, ESG, and Nether Void. I have high hopes for all the cool legends rares.

I think these will find it's way in as well (not counting those cards from the promo tab we already suspect):

Su-Chi
Concordant Crossroads
Guardian Beast
Old Man of the Sea or Seasinger
Ishan's Shade

Mishra's Factory will probably be in.  It's a staple in Legacy.

Also, is Force Spike in already?

Hymn to Tourach, Dinosaur Hunter.  Nuff said.

I would be surprised if this card wasn't printed.

Given its staple status, it would be surprising.  I see Hymn as a major indicator, as to whether the set is supposed to be for competitive online play (like psuedo-legacy), or it its just cool old cards for people to mess around with in Prismatic and stuff.  If hymn is in, it definitely seems like they are going for Legacy online, given how unfun that card is to casual play.

I wonder if this is intended to stand beside, or replace, Sea Drake in the set.  Both creatures are featured in Faerie Stompy, it will be interesting to see if the deck becomes viable in Classic.  Sea Drake (as it wouldn't be as rare online) would be a much cheaper card on MTGO than IRL.

I don't know what Faerie Stompy looks like, but I see little reason why another color couldn't be splashed for a non-blue beatstick like Jotun Grunt or Tarmogoyf. There's no Wasteland in this format, and probably won't be for about 7 months.

Yeah. Just as they made up for the Khabal Ghoul with Serendib Efreet, they hit me with Forcefield.

Force of Will and Lim-Dul's Vault - looks like Flash is going to get a power boost from this set.

From what Worth Wollpert, the new brand manager for Magic Online, said, Flash is probably getting restricted in September.

So they are going for restrictions instead of bans in classic?  I wasn't aware that this was ever announced (forgive me if I missed it).

In the original announcement for Classic, it was stated that Classic would be the format where you could play any card you own.  Therefore, they can't ban cards.

The set has been spoiled, and is extremely underwhelming.   Sad

http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=891882

As has been said all over forums.gleemax.com, the set has a lot of casual cards but nothing for competitive classic (except about 6 cards including Force of Will).

Agreed. I was looking forward to playing Reset Tide in Classic, but without Reset that's not happening. This set could have been so much, but it wasn't anything. Instead of printing cards like Reset, ESG, and Sinkhole they printed a bunch of random crap. Very disappointing. Wizards won't be getting my money.

On a positive note, I'm saving time and money. So thanks wizards!

They cant blow their wad yet otherwise they'll have nothing for the unannounced, but possible if they can get money, classic 2.

It didn't need 190 of the 195 card set.

I'd say more likely 170 of the 195.  There are a decent enough number of cards that I'm happy... Then again I'm easy to please.

Silly enough, we're getting Lim-Dul's Vault right after Flash gets the restrict.

Oh classic 2 is coming.... of course it's more commonly known as Urza's Saga, which when it is released will result in a very interesting classic meta.
