Well everyone. I have a pretty big announcement. :p For the first time in history, Wizards has gone off the farm and decided to nominate an ETERNAL Player for the Magic Invitational. They know that Vintage and Legacy are popular formats and they nominated me to represent you. This is a huge opportunity for us to send a message to Wizards: A) That Vintage and Legacy matter B) That just because we play Vintage and Legacy doesn't mean we can't compete at the highest levels. I will test and prepare for the Invitational. I bash face. C) I also promise to make an AWESOME Vintage/Legacy card, if I were to win. Moreover, WE CAN WIN THIS BALLOT. Wizards made a huge mistake. They nominated TEN different people. That means that it won't take that many votes to win this. The Pros will split their votes, the Evan Erwin fans will split their votes, Kyle Sanches will split his own votes. All we need is the Legacy and Vintage votes and we can win this. Man, if I were voting purely on the little blurbs, Evan or Rizzo would win, but as yours was quite excellent too (and I even understood what spells were being played!), you'll definitely have my vote as soon as the WOTC boards let me log in. Good Luck Steve, it sure would be exciting to see a Vintage player at the Invitational.

Evan Erwin’s was pretty funny, but the problem is that he isn’t going to play to win.
His reason for going isn’t be to play, but to make videos.

The WotC boards appear to be having some problems. It looks like it's allowing people to log in, but then sometimes it just logs them back out when it redirects. When I tried again this morning I was able to vote, so you may want to wait a bit and try again. Another thing you may want to try is to click the redirect link rather than let the site redirect you itself. It looks like the poll is open until the 15th, so there is plenty of time left to vote. |

As I said on The Source, I voted for the representant of our beloved Freak Formats. I just hope you win that poll and the invitational, but it's kinda unlikely given the harsh competition on that contest. I hope your card will be good for both Legacy and Vintage (well, and Standard and Extended and Block and Highlander, if it's possible), and with "good" I don't mean broken : ) It will certainly be a creature, hopefully a Wizard (I like the idea of Invitational cards being Wizards). Maybe some Null Rod/Engineered Plague-Hybrid on some nice Tarmogoyf-like power-to-cost-ration body?  |

I think this is an important vote for any person on manadrain (whether you like Steve or not). His representation will be taken seriously, as most other people (and pros) think of Vintage as a joke or broken format. Steve (I am assuming) willl take it seriously and represent Vintage honorably. Not to mention, how much fun could we have helping submit card ideas!

Yay--finally today I was able to log in. It wasn't working for me at all yesterday.
Voted for the one with the most insane plays.
Unfortunately, I'm gonna bet that Erwin ends up winning it and if they release the results Steve will end up in 2nd, with Rizzo in 3rd. I hope it doesn't end like that though. I want a Vintage card!

Regarding the downtime in new account registration -- this is part of an overall boards maintenance/upgrade that took precedence over anything we on the Magic web team were doing. We apologize if this prevents new boards members from voting...obviously that wasn't the intention, just a case of bad timing. Registration may be back up as early as Tuesday, so check back then.

We can STILL Win this. Evan Erwin is definitely the man to beat, but we have enough votes that WE can mathematically carry this, EASILY.
