Hello again.  I just confirmed everything with Disposeable Heroes and will be holding another mox tourney on October 7th.  I was going to do it earlier but didn't want to go head-to-head with other tourneys so I just decided to hold off until the first week of October.
The mox for this tournament will be...

Ancestral Recall  Razz

INFO:

FEINSTEIN'S 2ND MOX TOURNEY!

STILL DAVE FEINSTEIN!

JOHNSTON, R.I.
02910
(401)432-7710

START TIME: 12:15 SHARP.
REGISTRATION 11:00-NOON.
(THAT MEANS DON'T COME LATE.  I HATE GIVING OUT PENALTIES.  PEOPLE WERE GOOD ABOUT THIS LAST TIME.  PLEASE STAY THAT WAY.  :p)

COST: $25
15 PROXY.

1ST PLACE: ANCESTRAL RECALL
2ND PLACE: 4 PLATEAU
3RD PLACE: 4 WATER GRAVE
4TH PLACE: 4 UMEZAWA'S JITTE

5TH-8th:  CHOICE OF TWO GOODIES THAT INCLUDE BIRDS OF PARADISE, WRATH OF GOD, NEW DUALS, CHROME MOX AND FETCHLANDS.
OVER 20 GOODIES TO CHOOSE FROM!

ALSO GUARANTEED: FREE SIDE TOURNEY FOR 2 VOLCANIC ISLANDS TO THE FIRST 8 PEOPLE WHO DROP.  AM I NICE OR WHAT? Razz

THESE PRIZES WILL TOTAL $800 AND ARE ALL GUARANTEED REGARDLESS OF ATTENDANCE
IF PAST 40 PEOPLE I WILL INCREASE PRIZES AND PAY TO TOP 16.  I ENJOY GIVING OUT PRIZES. COME ON DOWN!

ADDITIONAL PRIZES:
HIGHEST PLACING FISH DECK (14 OR MORE CREATURES MUST INCLUDE BLUE) - FOIL DCI WRATH!
BEST TOURNAMENT REPORT- PRIZE TO BE DETERMINED!
RANDOM DOORPRIZES TO BE DETERMINED!

So this setup is similar to last time except this time around I'm guaranteeing $800 total in prizes regardless of attendance.  The payout will increase if I get past 40 people.  I enjoy giving out the maximum in prizes and anyone who went to my last tourney can attest to this.  The demand for another tourney was large so here it is.  =)

I will be buying/selling cards again all day.  I ran through alot of cards last time and will have even more on hand for sale this time around.  Also just like last time I'll be buying again and will have more money on me this time around.

The store location is once again Disposable Heroes.
For those who have not been it is located in Bond Plaza.  This is across from the Wendy's and parking is in the rear of the building.  It's located above Corner Pocket Bar and Grill.  The website with easy to get to directions is www.dhocards.com.  Any questions at all can be left here or can be pm'd to me.

For those who already came I look forward to seeing you again and for those who were not in attendance at my first tourney I encourage you to come out and say hello.  I will do everything in my power to once again ensure that a good time is had by all.

Thanks again for all of your support.

See you on October 7th!

UPDATES:

I am doing a free side tourney for two volcanic islands to the first 8 people who drop regardless of attendance.  If I get over 40 people I will increase the prizes for the free side tourney even more.

I will be doing random door prizes throughout the day.  Unsure of what that will be at this time, but it will be good.

I still expect to give out prizes for top 16...  I need over 40 people to do this (thats my break even point after i pay staff + store) but I think I'll be ok.
If under 40 I'm still guaranteeing the $800 in prizes I've advertised plus these updates.  In other words, the free side tourney for 2 volcanics is also guaranteed  =)

The honest to god goal here is to give out as much as I possibly can in prizes.  If I get a large amount of people, I'll give an extra-large amount of prizes out.  Anyone who went to my last tourney can attest to this.  I just want people to be happy and glad that they made the trip down from wherever they came from.

Brassman is working on another flyer.  I'll post that when I get a chance.

That's it for now.  Thanks again for all of your support.

I cleaned up top 4 prizes a little, making it more clear who gets what.  These again aren't completely set in stone since I've been trading alot in preparation for this tourney, but that's pretty much what you can expect for top 4.  Of course there's a good chance this all gets increased, but at the very least $800 is guaranteed in prizes.
Again, prizes will scale up if over 40 people and i'll be able to give 9th-16h prizes... so come on down!

Also that free side tourney for 2 volcs is guaranteed to the first 8 people who drop =)

This tourney is just 2 weeks away and I'm feverishly preparing for it.  Thanks again for your support.

Anyone going from anywhere near Western Mass (Pittsfield area)?  I would love to go but hate driving the 3 hours or whatever it is to such a shitty state.

Rhode Island is a wonderful state.

Disposeable Heroes is a great store.

One of those statements is true :p

Although Western Mass is far, it's roughly 2 hours and DH is a gigantic store worth traveling to... and you'd get to see me! Surprised

I'm currently getting everything ready and am in the final stages of preparparation.  I'm doing everything in my power to make sure this tourney is just as good, if not better than my first one.

Just some reminders for all who would attend-

1) IT'S THIS SUNDAY!  :p
For some reason, many people I've talked to recently thought this was later in the month... it's not.  I had this date picked out a while ago
and my tourney is definitely this Sunday.  In an earlier post I said it was 3 weeks away when it was at the time only 2 weeks away.  That may have added to the confusion but in any event it is now only 5 days away.  This SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! <o_0>

2) This tourney is still 15 proxies- Same rules apply.
If it's not the actual card, it's considered a proxy.   I'm pretty reasonable on proxies as long as you clearly mark what your proxy is.  Don't scribble or write over past proxies.  Try to use lands or a card that mirrors the casting cost of what you're proxying.  Either is fine by me.  Again, ELD and other great proxies still count as proxies with me.  If it isn't the actual real card, it counts toward your proxy count.  Also same as last time, if someone has a serious issue getting to 15 proxies PLEASE LET ME KNOW!  I will go out of my way to help you get whatever you need if I know ahead of time.

3) Highest placing fish deck gets a foil dci wrath on me Wink  Call me biased.  I root for fish.  If you have at least 14 creatures and include blue, that's fish in my book.

4) If you came last time and are debating on coming this time... you should come again :p  I'm going to be keeping a tally of those who have come to both of my events.  I appreciate the support people have given me and it is something that I plan on rewarding down the road...most likely at my end of year extravaganza Very Happy

5) If you didn't come last time...you should come this time :p
There has been minimal concern over the fact that anyone is allowed in my tourney even if they may not be allowed somewhere else.  I didn't even want to address that but I'll briefly state the following to those who may have that concern:
I go 100% out of my way to make sure everyone has a good time and I don't begrudge anyone from attending my tourneys.  With that said, I tolerate no shenanigans and my judging staff is top notch because I personally hire them from various locales.  Anyone who was at the last tourney can attest to that and I have the same fantastic staff plus a few great additions this time around.  I don't just advocate fair play, my primary goal is making sure everyone has a great time...
which I believe everyone did last time and you can rest assured I'll make sure that happens again.  =)

6) Deck Reg ends at 12:00.  Pairings go up by 12:15.  This is something that I have to enforce strictly to make sure the tourney runs smoothly.  Last time there were no issues but I'm just reminding everyone to get their lists in by noon.  Doors open at 11:00 (maybe even earlier...im there at 10:30 :p).  I'd strongly recommend printing out a decklist ahead of time and filling it out.  Here's the official WOTC link (although you can go to other places) for a deck reg sheet:

http://www.wizards.com/DCI/downloads/DecklistConstructed.pdf

7) I encourage you to hang around even when you're done with the event... until we close ;p  Pretty much everyone hung around by their own free will last time and it was awesome.  This time I'll have some things lined up.  While other things are in the works and depend on attendance, I am guaranteeing the side tourney for 2 volcanics.  It will be free to the first 8 people who drop.  That is a pretty good deal :p

8) Cards!  Bring them!  I'll have money!  If you bring cards... you'll have some too!

9) Regardless of how you finish... you should do a tourney report!  I have a pretty cool prize in mind that I plan to give to best tourney report (as judged by me :p).

10)  That's all I got.  See you Sunday.

- Dave Feinstein =)

If I'm not ill by then, and I don't get dragged off to the Paradise City Arts Festival instead, I'll be there.  Outlaw, that means carpooling if you need it.

Well it's the night before my tourney and I just wanted to do one more update.

I have a ridiculously good staff tomorrow led by the head judge of this past Boston Lorwyn pre-release, Ian Taylor.

I also have another dealer running side by side with me as well.  So that's twice the singles and double the buyers =)

I've spent the better part of this week preparing for my tourney when I haven't been forced by gunpoint into work :p

I really look forward to seeing everyone and thank those who support me.  I do these tourneys for you.

Hello =)

30 people on the button came to play for my second tournament.  It was slightly less than I wanted, but I expected a decrease due to the pats game, redsox game and  some people deciding to not show over the fact that I allow Nate Pease in my tourney (even though he did not show this time).

The tourney ran smoothly again with zero problems... thanks largely in part to my great staff.

I didn't have quite enough people to do the side tourney for 2 volcanics, so I added them to the main prize pool.  I also threw in another $50 in prizes despite taking a slight hit.

The additional dealer table went well, I took many pictures... some people ran away from the camera :p

I plan to do a double mox tourney in Decemeber which will probably be my last tourney (I'll have run out of power :p).

Finals was Arik P. splitting with Bill Copes.

I'll do a big summary report later on, I must sleep now :p

To those who attended, thanks again for your interest and faith in me to run my tourneys.

Everyone who was there seemed happy, and that's really all I could ever ask for.
