My field vs Bobmerman. It gets worse.

Now it's worse.

Pimp White Weenie Parfait?

GAT vs Goblines

I just assumed that Kevin's GAT deck would have an opponent with SOME permanents in play. What gives?

Goblins vs Elves! Table 19!

MutedEquillibrium and RobertTheSwordsman drive 7+ hourse to Eudemonia to get paired up against each other. Oh joy!

Yup. Control Slaver.

Goblins!

Yup, 8 Goblins should about do it.

I heard rumors about Robert's Double Turn 1 'Goyf off black lotus. That thing was fat in no time.

Brett wished he had Green Elemental Blast! x2

Blood moon owns Junior

Fantastic action at table 19!

Yup, 8 Goblins should about do it.

This was game two of round two.  I had won the first.  In this picture he has actually just emptied for 26 (not 8 Wink) goblins and passes the turn Razz

My response was lotus, mindcensor. Concede.
That brought the games to 1-1.

That was quite a fun match, but, if I recall correctly, I got a lucky draw and was able to creature swarm him in the third game.  I think my third game opening had was lotus, brainstorm, kataki, recall, tundra, x,x.  He forced the recall but I was able to resolve the kataki and brainstorm.  I think that this was the third match opening hand, but I really need to take more post match notes.

I have to go to work but I will post my deck list and a brief description.  I lost two matchs: one in swiss and the second and last time in first round of top 8.  Both of the losses were to Eric in a mirror match, the only differience that I saw was he sideboarded jitte's. Razz ...I will post more about the matches later.

Patrick 6th:
ghoti (fish) based off Dave Feinstein's deck:

Lands
    3  Wasteland
    1  Strip Mine
    4  Flooded Strand
    2  Polluted Delta
1  Plains (I chose this instead of 1 island because I was affraid of Magus of the Moon and wanted to have a non mountain white for swords)
    4  Tundra
    3  Underground Sea

Creatures
    4  Dark Confidant
3  Jotun Grunt (kept the 3 grunts instead of 2 and the proved to be very effective)
    4  Meddling Mage
    2  Kataki, War's Wage
    3  Aven Mindcensor

Spells
    4  Force of Will
    4  Brainstorm
    1  Mox Sapphire
    1  Black Lotus
    1  Ancestral Recall
    1  Time Walk
    3  Duress
    1  Mox Jet
3  Daze (I thought three was a perfect number, in the timetwister tourny I was seeing too many dazes when I took out one of the grunts)
    1  Mox Pearl
    3  Swords to Plowshares
    2  Stifle
    1  Lotus Petal

// Sideboard
SB: 1  Kataki, War's Wage
SB: 4  Leyline of the Void
SB: 3  Seal of Cleansing
SB: 1  Swords to Plowshares
SB: 2  Threads of Disloyalty
SB: 2  Echoing Truth
SB: 2  Spell Snare

Proxy Ancestral!

Austin's 4 Strip 2 Factory Oath Configuration forced Christiaan into a draw.

Aardshark and Soulfeast going back to combo

I have no idea what happened to Eirik's field vs (i'm guessing) Bomberman

Lesse, what does this here card do. Read read read. 1: wreck my field?

Kevin flew in from Vegas to get his Vintage Game on.  Proxies just aren't cool where he comes from, no one has power, and he plays Stax! Welcome to Eudemonia!

I'm just guessing Junior gets run over by Klemic's doods.

Robert vs Hiryu

Junior's Time Walk proxy, inspired by Brainiac7's etching skillz

Christiaan on turn x of extra turns. Austin has active Oath, Christian is at 6 or 7 with 2 factories on the field. What to do?  There isn't enough mana to go around!

Tolar kickin ass, I'm guessin.

Yup. That's a Mind Twist in RFG

JefftheFob playing vs Sam Sherman, and Webster not playing, because Web had so many bye's he had to play like 2 rounds of Swiss!

Paul's Sui-Black getting stomped on by Goblin Doods

Table 19 action!

Austin now knows that if Christiaan says "Enter discard step?" and Austin says sure, and Christiaan discards and signals yer up, then it's too late to give him a Spirit Token. Doh! Christian has yet one more round to live!

WHen Daniel comboes off with Bomberman, even he can fuck that up.  He drew 40+ cards, played some Trinket Mages and Salvagers, then tossed down Leyline of Singularity and watched his guys die!  Luckily, he still had another Salvager in hand. (whew!)

Junior's Memory Jar Hand. Doh!

Marco's Triple Bob Beatdown with Gush TPS!

Brett Allen vs Luis Scott-Vargas

Mexican Standoff

Christiaan only saw 3 Force of Wills in his top 20 cards so far, so maybe Tinker or Balance will resolve finally!

Rancored Mongrels, Dryads! Goyfs! Oh My!

Luis is forced to play out the final round of swiss. I don't know who is winning.

Sam's counterwall kept Austin out of Top 8

Kevin graciously scooped to me so I could possibly make top 8. (He had 9 points to my 10, and only 13 pointers could make it). I made 9th.
We played anyways for fun He got game 1, I got game two, and the 3rd round was a draw! Doh!

Pimp Bomberman

Awesome Eudemonia Playmats for all in top 8! Webster was kind enought let me have his!

RobertTheSwordsman's Pimp Daddy Enforcers.  Too bad it's to blurry. Sorry folks!

Top 8 Control Slaver vs Gat.

Top 8 Fish vs Fish

Top 8 GAT vs GAT

Top 4 Tyrant Oath in action!

Eric's Jitte's own the mirror!

Prize Support!

That's it for now.

Edit: John was playing Grim Oath, not Tyrant Oath, as it doesn't resemble a traditional Oath deck at all. It's basically combo w/ Oaths to deal w/ Stax and Fish. It's still primarily combo.

Awesome pictures, thanks.  Also, you can cross off one of the ????s in the field with TPS - I was running it to a 3-3 finish and didn't see it listed there.

My Mini-Report.  I own 2 Shops and 1 Bazaar now, and Travis LaPlante made top 2 somewhere with a Trinket Mage Aven Mindcenser SmokeStack Goblin Welder deck, so I'm in.

My list:

My hastily thrown to gether Generic Stax Sideboard. Travis' had 4 Tarmogyf SB, but I was stretched to 10 Proxies, as Austin and Junior sucked up all the power (and they forgot where my Tolarian Academy was)  Now it's down to a crisp 5 proxies so I have some room...

Round 1 : Daniel with Bomberman!
Game 1: He beats down with Mindsensor and Dudes.  there is coverage of this match at www.eudemonia.com/p9
Game 2: We go almost to time, both of us low on points. I have a flier, he doesn't but his Energy Flux is sucking up a LOT of my time and Energy (imagine that), but my Tolarian Academy makes things easy.  Because I don't always take that 20 seconds to think out important plays like the good players here do (Say, Web, Sam Smith, Aardshark, etc), I punt and instead of a draw, it's off to table 19 for me.

Round 2: ?Billy? with ???
Game 1: Game loss because my list had 56 cards in it (forgot to write down 3 Chalice and 1 Urborg. That'll learn me to not come with maindeck pre-written out)
Game 2: I start with Wasteland, Pithing Needle naming, say, Polluted Delta
He plays Flagstones of Trokair, Isamaru Hound of Konda, go.
I play Welder just to gain the 1 life from his Swords and eventuall Sundering Titan pulls blocking duty for a turn until Trike shows to seal the deal.
Game 3: He does something, or not. My hand has Sapphire, Mana Crypt, Land, Welder, SHop, Tinker, etc. I just Tinker in Trinisphere, get 2 SmokeStacks and Welder on line and hide behind lock pieces. He scoops and I work my way up to table 10!

Round 3: Uh, Kevin maybe? GAT
Game 1 Slide a Welder under the radar turn 1, and a few turns later, topdeck a Bazaar, which sends a Titan to the graveyard to whipe out his whole field (lucky me!)
Game 2: He scoops to SmokeStack abuse while I had but a Mindsensor on the field (and he at say, 10 life). I think he should have stuck it out. Interesting thing though, as I was beating down with Mindsensor, He sat on two Polluted Deltas. At some point, he popped them both and forgot about just searching the top 4. I stopped him in time, and hit a land on one fetch, but...Off to table...10 again

Round 4: Richard? Goblins!
I win the roll, have no idea what he's playing (he may have been one of the Belcher Budget players of the past), so I start with land/mox or something, go.
Barbarian Ring,Aether Vial comes out
I drop Shop and SmokeStack
He forgets to charge Vial, but gets a dude out.
I ramp up stack and drop permanents.
He sacs Aether Vial or something.
I wipe out his field with a lucky Stripmine Topdeck to take out that last permanent, and Win with Trinket Mage/Mindcensor Beatdown (or Trike Beatdown, I don't remember which)
Game 2: I have Lotus, Balance, Mox, Mox, Tolarian, other stuff in hand. He leads with Lackey, and makes three land drops over three turns, dropping dudes while I chill with Moxen, Lotus in play, letting him overextend into my Balance.
He just can't recover. I even asplode his Vial set to 4.
I beat me a Goblins Deck! (Yeah, I had great draws. I am good at this game). I move up to Table 3!

Round 5: Christiaan Royer GAT
He's at 3-0-1. I am at 3-1-0 We must play

Game 1: I go mad broken, perhaps with Smokestack Cruciable. Who knows. I win. I tell him at least I get to go first on game 3.
Game 2: He has early Forces for my scary cards, and he goes aggro and wipes me out after a long hard battle.
Game 3: He has 3 Early Forces for my scary cards, and on Turn 3/4ish of extra turns, I am able to Balance for the Draw! Whoot!

Round 6: Kevin from Vegas with Stax
I get paired down. Keving has 9 points, and there are 3 10 pointers vying for that last top 8 spot. I convince him to scoop to me, eventually, but we play for fun anyways.
He Gets me game 1 (I had a SB card maindeck. Damn Trike!) Game Loss
We play Game 2 He kills me (This is when I make my last plea for him to scoop. It works)
We continue playing afterwards, pretending game 2 was Game 1, and I get him on the new Game 2, and game 3 ends with neither the winner, so we "drew".

I make 9th, I get nothing, but Klemic convinces Web to gimme his own cool Eudemonia Top 8 Playmat, as Web is quite happy with his own.

Whoot!

Props
Travis for making such a cool deck. Wish I coulda actually playtested it, got the Proxy thing under control, etc.
Junior and Austin for being more or less in Top 8 contention going into the later rounds.
Eudemonia for having these things
The Tahoe Crew, L.A. Crew for making it out here (and Kevin from Vegas)
Kevin for scooping to me.
Gosh, everything, but...

Slops: Me for making 9th for 2nd year in a row at the Lotus Tourney.

Very good times, and congratulations to the winners. Two of LA's finest (John Hodge and Josh Stewart) seemed destined to meet eachother in the finals, but alas, that's the way it goes.

Since some interest has been expressed, I figured I'd make the mistake of posting what I played at the Lotus tournament. Smile

Perhaps a clever name will come to me in the near future.dec

4 Quirion Dryad
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Wild Mongrel

2 Rancor

4 Daze
4 Force of Wil
3 Repeal

4 Brainstorm
3 Street Wraith
1 Merchant Scroll
1 Mystical Tutor
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk
1 Regrowth
1 Time Walk

4 Polluted Delta
1 Flooded Strand
4 Tropical Island
3 Island
2 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Emerald
1 Lotus Petal

I quite enjoyed playing it, and ended up 3-0 going into round 4, which I unfortunately lost. In round 5, I ended up paired against a teammate, and I conceded so he'd have a guaranteed shot at it (he deserved it a bit more than me).

I'm not going to tell you Rancor is good; it's not, I just like it a lot. Very Happy

As far as Wastelands go, I think I'd prefer all or nothing, and I'd definitely like to fit in another Merchant Scroll and cut some Islands (I'd actually like to play one Breeding Pool, the new U/G dual). I also think I could afford to cut a Daze.

Still a work in progress, but like I said, fun to play.

Thank you very much.

Also: 200th post. Awesome.

@Korgano- Thank you for the mini-report.  I like the list Wink

That sucks you lost to the mirror... I saw the lists and literally the only thing I could see different is that he had jittes and you didn't... that probably mattered :p

2 Fish in top 8 and one splitting in the finals of this is encouraging though.  Maybe I'll give the deck a spin again soon.

GAT still looked like the king in the castle... but that's not surprising.  No flash is definitely surprising to me.

Anywho thanks again for the results and pics lotushead.  One day I shall make my way out to Eudominia!  ...One day :p
