I've recently returned to playing Magic after a 3 year absence and having played Vintage pretty much exclusively before I stopped, I had to resume playing this wonderful format.
I've started thinking about using Winter Orb again. There was an old deck many years ago called 'Forgotten Orb', which if I remember correctly, was a U/B Weenie-type deck with 4 Winter Orb main. It also ran some counters, especially Memory Lapse, because of the great synergy with Winter Orb.
Do you think there is a place for Winter Orb in the current format?

The problem of Winter orb is that T1 decks nowadays can run with one or two lands. Flash needs land + mox, GAT needs two islands, Ichorid needs a lonely Bazaar of Baghdad... And for the Flash and Ichorid case, they only need to tap their lands once or twice. Maybe in a sideboard, if you expect lots of control (bomberman, slaver...). If you want something similar, you should consider Root maze or Orb of dreams, they are efficient speedbumps.
