This was inspired by a post Atog Lord made in another thread, when he commented that since the next set has a card called "Guile", there ought to be a "Chun-Li" as well.
It sort of got me thinking. Planeswalkers are sort of doing this now anyway, so it might be redundant, but wouldn't it be interesting if there were a way to implement 'super meters' into creature combat? For them what don't know, in a game like Street Fighter, various game actions add power to your super meter until you hit a certain threshold, upon which your character does something generally amazing, like a large fireball or a series of unblockable hits.
So yeah, this is the basic idea:
Keyword X, COST- Do something amazing. (Whenever -this- becomes tapped, put an effort counter on this. Remove X effort counters and COST to play this ability.)
What I would like to see is a series of men that perform exaggerated versions of their in flavor abilities. Something like this;
Fiery Death Guy
1RR
Creature - Human Wizard
Tap: -this- deals 1 damage to target creature or player.
Keyword 3, tap: - -this- deals 3 damage to target creature or player.
1/1
The main reason behind doing it upon a creature becoming tapped is because it can signify many different kinds of actions; tapping for abilities, attacking, tapping as a cost, etc etc - expending effort. This leaves the operation of the keyword wide open for different means of implementation.
Not sure what to call it... pretty sure 'Supermeter' is taken

At any rate I think there's merit here, what do you think?
