Soulmill
Enchantment
 {U} {B}
Pay 1 life: Target player puts the top card of his or her library into his or her graveyard.

I was thinking about the various kinds of resource exchange in the game - in particular, what resources you can exchange life for directly without breaking the game.  This particular relationship hasn't really been explored (no, I don't care about Wand of Denial), and I think it's worth a look.

I really like the card's flexibility - you can stick it in Ichorid or Reanimator and combo out, or you can use it aggressively to mill your opponent.  There are even circumstances where you can use both.

The life/cards ratio could possibly use a little tweaking, but if it were any weaker this would basically just be worse than Glimpse the Unthinkable, which hasn't seen much play anywhere.

Since it was introduced in Futuresight, why not make it a fortification?  A mill is something you would build on a land.  give it a casting cost of {2}, and then give it a colored fortify cost of {U}{B}.

I like the card as it is, and see no reason to change it (and I had to look up what a fortification is. It's lame.) It does have flavor justification, but I would rather alter the flavor than the mechanic.

It would definitely be flavorful to make it a Fortification, but that particular mechanic is just pointless clutter that I don't really want to endorse.

I think the card is pretty balanced now, but it feels pretty boring.  Maybe this ability should be tacked onto a Legend or something?

This feels like the sort of card that is either ridiculously awful or ridiculously powerful, with no room for interesting in between.
