Hello again. I apologize for not getting this up a little earlier, I was busy defending myself from someone who did not go to either of my tournaments but decided to create a thread and make negative statements about me and my events without any actual facts behind them =( Anyway that thread is now defunct and pretty much everyone in there defended me, but to those who have any lingering doubts about the quality of my tourneys this thread should put that to rest. I'm always happy to hear from people but please note mods are watching this thread closely. If you have something constructive to post then be my guest. It'd be helpful if anyone posting actually attended the event, but if you want to post about my tourney just make sure it doesn't waste my time or the community's. That's all I ask.
Anywho, 30 people showed up on the button to support my second tourney. This meant 5 rounds of swiss with cut to top 8. Who could handle this Herculean task? Introducing my 'special guest' head judge!

DADDY STEIN HUNGRY.
Ok that wasn't him. The head judge was none other than Boston area judge extroadanaire... Ian Taylor!11!

Do not mess with this man. Before being transplanted from his native Australia, Ian was a professional wildlife hunter. The trashcan behind him appears to be full.
There's probably at least one dead kangaroo in there :p
Ian made sure my tourney was run super smooth. Which it was. After 5 pretty quick rounds the final standings before top 8 were...

Erik got 9th on the tiebreaks so I gave him a volcanic Island. I didn't really have enough people to run my advertised side tourney but would still run it if people wanted, otherwise I would add them to the main prize pool. I left it up to my players to vote on it and they overwhelmingly voted for volcs to go into main prizes. So I put a volc at 9th and added one for second. In addition to the 2 volcanics being added to the main prize-pool I added some more new duals to 3rd/4th place and I doubled the amount of cards I planned on putting at the goody table for 5th-8th and gave them 3-4 goody picks instead of my normal one-two. Why did I add to the prizepool despite not getting enough players to net money? I care for my players. It's really all I care about when I run these.
I've said that 1,000 times but it's true.
Final Prizes ended up being-
1st- Ancestral
2nd- 4 Plateau + Volc
3rd- 4 Watery Grave + Breeding Pool
4th- 4 Jitte + Watery Grave
5th-8th- 3-4 cards from goody table
9th- Volcanic Island
Now pictures of the victors with their spoils!

Arik and Bill agreed to split 1st and second and sold to the on-site dealer. I've never seen Arik that happy. Wait a minute... that's not Arik. That's Marek! :p

Jermiah was so happy he took off before actually collecting his prizes. Yes, I got to him before he drove away :p

Stefan has never been the same since Brassman left.
3 months later he ran into a burning building with nothing but oil on him. He survived. The 5 kittens did not.
Outlaw and Joe Bernier with some 5th-8th loot. Outlaw was sad about not making top 4, but he was all smiles after he sold the dryads for some cough syrup and a couple pills of viagra.
Outlaw and Joe would go on to form a rock band and sell over 5 million records. Things were going great for 'VINT-AGE', but Outlaw took all the credit as the brash frontman and Joe was always the disgruntled drummer in the background. The breakup had to happen at some point. Outlaw was never the same.
Good god that's one ugly motha.
Dave Feinstein would go on to become the leading model and poster boy for Husky Head Magazine. He eventually would become the editor-and-chief.Out of 30 players I had 17 new ones, some who I had never seen before in a tournament. This made me happy. Here are some of them.

Also in those pictures are some people who came to my first tourney. In addition to the prizes given out, I announced at my tourney that top 2 would receive paid for byes to my final mox tournament. Arik and Bill got those. In addition to the two paid for byes, anyone who has been to both of my tourneys (all asterisked above) has the option of purchasing a round 1 bye for $5. This is just something small I wanted to do for the people who supported me and if they don't want the bye the entry fee is still only $25. Anyone at the tourney already has this info but I thought I'd make it public.
Info on my final tourney can be viewed here:
http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=34724.0So overall I had a great time at my second tourney. Seeing people happy was all that I wanted and I think that was accomplished. My only regret was advertising what I felt the value of the cards I gave out were worth, because it gave something for someone to try and attack me on. In the future I'm just going to keep the values of what I think the cards worth to myself instead of advertising them because people have different values on cards and someone might try and argue over that despite not actually being there. With that said, I am confident that I gave out exactly what I advertised both in cards and dollar amount and many players complimented me on the prize support.
30 People wasn't quite enough to break even for me (I bought the ancestral specifically for this tourney :p) but people walked out with a smile on their face so that's all that matters. I thank again all who showed up and it really means alot to me that people continue to support me. My last tourney is a 'thank you' to the NE type one players. I really am giving away most of my vintage cards and it's just more satisfying for me to run a tourney than to ebay it all. So hopefully I'll see you all on December 16th.
