At my ELD's Mox VIII 32 players showed up to give Stillpoint a grand opening and compete for their share of glory.  The Top 8 showed experience and skill being the key factors, as long time veterans won with the decks they've mastered.  Brassman left New England on top of the mountain, splitting in the Top 4 with three other respected names - Ray Robillard, Oliver Beaumont and Bill Copes.  With another heavy weight leaving the Vintage Utopia that is New England, who will rise up to take his place at the front of the pack?  We'll find out when New England's strongest players match wits and cards to get their share of loot and bragging rights.

First place prize will be a Mox Sapphire.

Here are the details:
ELD's Mox Tournament IX
Saturday, November 17th, 2007
$25 Entry Fee

with:
Gateway Comics

located at:
3103 Cranberry Highway
East Wareham, MA
774-269-6799

Parking in rear (no parking in front of the building)

This is an improved location for Gateway Comics.  They have moved next door into the space previously used by Gamer's Basement.  They now run Video Game tournaments, as well as Magic and other card games.

You can pre-register by sending me an PM or e-mailing me at EricELD@comcast.net  You do not need to pay ahead of time, this is just to get a head count.  Everyone who pre-registers will be entered into a drawing for a Foil ELD Proxy!

Prizes Based off 30 people.

1st Place - UL Mox Sapphire shown above GUARANTEED
2nd Place - Playset of 4x Force of Will or a Signed Mana Drain
3rd Place -  1st pick from Foil Tarmogoyf, Foil Damnation or the combo of Foil Tinker+Foil Sundering Titan or Platinum Angel
4th Place -  2nd pick from Foil Tarmogoyf, Foil Damnation or the combo of Foil Tinker+Foil Sundering Titan or Platinum Angel
5th-8th - Choice from Type 1 STAPLE SWAG including All the Dual Lands, Force of Will and other Type 1 Staples
or 2 cards from the PIMPED SWAG including Foils, Black boardered goodness and "ELD" Proxies and other cards you don't need but you know you want.

I am going to give away the Mox Sapphire regardless of attendance.  Prizes will be adjusted based on attendance.  At my last event we had 32 players.  With all the feedback I've received about the Bazaar of Baghdad Proxies, I suspect we will do better this time.  100% of the entry fees will be put towards the prizes.  That's what to expect out of all of my tournaments.

A Limited Edition hand-made Bazaar of Baghdad
will be given to every single player just for playing.  These "ELD Proxies" do not count towards your proxy count for all my future events, or at any Myriad Games events.  I will only be making 50 of these.  Players may reserve specific numbered proxies when they pre-register.  Bazaar of Baghdad was selected by a vote at my previous event.  Here is the 1st Bazaar Proxy.  They will improve as I make the remaining 49.

These are the proxies I have made so far.

I've been receiving a lot of inquiries about my proxies.  I sell the previous ELD Proxies at $15 each.  I also take commissions to make any proxy.  These commissioned proxies are not considered ELD Proxies, so they do count towards your proxy count at ELD and Myriad Events.   Foil Proxies, like the one's I give away as door prizes can be commissioned as well.

Cost
$25.

Registration begins at 10:00 AM.  Decklists must be received by 11:00 AM.  The tournament will begin at 11:30 AM sharp.  Swiss rounds based on attendance - Cut to top 8.

Proxy rules
15 Proxies.  ELD Proxies from my previous events do not count towards your proxy limit.

Also -
Pizza will be available by the slice, as well as snacks and soda.
Side Drafts will take be available all day with discounted draft sets.
I will have singles for trade/sale
I will be buying cards.
      Commons/Uncommons/Lands mixed (at least 10% uncommon) @ $5 per 1000
      Bulk rares @ $0.10 each
      Bulk Foils @ $0.05 each
Bulk Foil Rares @ $0.25 each
I'll be buying any and all cards – turn your unwanted cards into cash!

Look forward to seeing you all there.

I'm sure I'll be there.  Proxy 18 please.  If you could do something ATHF for artwork in my bazaar it would be much appreciated.  Instead of a bazaar worker pushing a cart, the danger cart would be very cool.  Thanks!

I had only one request for personalized proxy art this time.  Marek asked me to incorporate the Aqua Teen Hunger Force.  It's always fun and challenging when custom art is involved.  Making 50 of the same exact proxy is more than a little tedious, so personalizing proxies breaks up the monotony.   I do these personalizations for free.  For anyone looking to request personalized proxies, I ask the following:

1) Requests should be given at least 2 weeks before the event.
2) If you are unable to attend, please trade or buy the Proxy at $15.

As always, everyone who plays in my event will be getting a Proxy.  These Bazaar of Baghdads have proven to be the most challenging yet, and by far the most time consuming.  I hope they go a long ways towards clarifying game states all over New England.

I was able to yell loudly enough at work for them to take me off tomorrow (going out of business sux :p).

I will be going to this with a full car.  Not sure who is in that car yet besides myself and Christian Van Diijk (CVD).  If you could pre-reg us both that'd be swell.

Looking forward to this tourney.

I beat Goblins twice, and I didn't need no stinking board sweeper.  I'll take this time to bring up the fact that YOU need to have Pyroclasm in your Deathlong SB or you lose to Elves.  I prefer the old fashioned way - just winning.  Very Happy

The dust has settled, and in the end, two tournament veterans stood triumphant.  Nick Rodrigues and Daniel "Gaagooch" Gacioch split in the finals after a hard fought Top 8.  Full Report soon to follow.  Thank you to everyone who attended.  Your support is what keeps New England the best place for Vintage in the world.  You can find the results here.
