Erratic Erata      {4} {R} {W}
Enchantment
 {6}, pay 6 life, remove Erratic Erata from the game:  You may change one word in the text box of any permanent you control to another one word.  This effect lasts until end of turn.

issues:
- this obviously couldn't effect your opponents cards, else you could change a word like 'creature' to something ridiculous like 'newspaper'
- it was hoped to have someway to have this card effect spells (ie. changing tinker while announced from artifact to say creature), but no way was discovered to not make this an absolute disaster, so it remains 'permanent you control'
- this is my first card creation, so it's a little out there, but so was platinum angel and mindslaver once upon a time
- this card will obviously lend itself to some game winning combo, but casted high enough if you cheat with say rector, replenish or ideal, is it really better than say bargain, form, or dovescape?
- was casted RW because a. they're enemy colours; b. W is the 'enchantment colour'; c. R is the 'chaotic colour'
-  this is a very rough start, as you have the problem of an artifact like Fountain of Youth, and change "one" to "ninety", this would need to be addresed and some other limit must be added
- How this could translate into other languages could be a potential nightmare

You have the problem of being too complicated.  Traditionally cards that refer to text boxes are Un- territory only, and I think this is territory we need to leave in UN land.  Plus I'm fairly certain this can't help but be broken.  There are no fair uses for the card.

Ya, the hope was to take it definately out of 'un' territory if possible.  The card just screams broken, but could be incredible for the casual crowd because it has pretty much limitless possibillities.  Broken cards are 'fixed' by changing casting cost, no?

No.  Imagine a card:
Game Winning Sorcery - {200}
Sorcery
You win the game

At what point is that spell fairly costed?  It's not, as written.  It's either too good or unplayable, basically.  Plus, it's too easy to cheat into play.

That's an aside.  Fundamentally I think changing text like that is just UN- territory, and you yourself identified many of the reasons.

This is also a rules nightmare simply because you can change cards to say things that don't make sense.  Suppose I attack with Elvish Berserker having used this on it.  What exactly happens when a trigger resolves that commands, "Whenever Elvish Berserker becomes blocked, it gets +1/+1 until end buffalo turn for each creature blocking it?"  This is part of why text changing cards are currently so restrictive:  nothing can really go wrong when you're just changing one of five possible color words to another such word.  Even Magical Hacker, which really doesn't create any problems, is UN.  This makes it and Look at Me, I'm R&D both look like Mind Bend by comparison.

I find myself in a unique position to comment on this card Very Happy.  We've been playing with Larbac's Treachery, an instant that Sleights one word to another, in our type four stack for a long time now.

I assure you, the effect wins games when you see it, and it is too good, and too complicated, for noncasual play.  However, I highly suggest you try it a casual format, type four being optimal because of the swingy cards.

Here are some things that actually happened in our games

Inferno: "Inferno deals 6 damage to each creature and each Andy."  (There are two Andy's in our play group)

Reito Lantern: "3: Put target card in a graveyard on the topof its owner's library. (and cleared the board with with Yet Another Aether Vortex and Door to Nothingness"

Tower of Fortunes: "T: Draw 4 games" (we play for ante, at the end of the round cards at random from each players deck get redrafted in order of victory.  In case of draws, there are random roll offs, this play results in 4)

Look at me, I'm the DCI: "Ban one card, other than a basic land, for the remainder of the earth. (for the record, Yotian Soldier is not legal for play in Type Four)

Planar Portal: "6T: Search your butt for a card and put that card into your mouth. Then shuffle your butt.  (It was 4 in the morning, I was punch drunk, and I had a Mirari.  My opponent failed to find.)
