This meandeck open will be one unlike any you have ever seen before. We are going to open the 2008 Meandeck Open series with a bang. The Soldiery is sponsoring a $400 Standard cash tournament and has rented out a space downtown with a CASH BAR. To fill space, we will be holding lots of side events, including a Vintage tournament! This will be the same deal as previous Meandeck Opens EXCEPT the location. Entry is $15 UNLIMITED PROXY Registration closes at 1pm SHARP and tournament will begin immediately. Prizes: Depends on the turnout, but we generally give $120 to first, $60 to second, and $20 to third with an upward distribution over 15 players. I will not refuse a drink at this tournament. Just FYI.
This will be just like the European tournaments: Have a draft while you're in a draft! That's the way magic should be!
The only upgrade I could imagine would be to have hot chicks in playboy bunny costumes serving the drinks! (I apologize for my chauvinistic comment!)

Is there anyone driving to this thing from C-Town. After I go 0-2 drop I will most likely not be able to drive.

Actually there is a public smoking ban in effect in Ohio. This means no smoking in public places and you must be 25 feet away from public entrances if you are smoking. Therefore, I have only been to one place that allows you to still smoke indoors after the smoking ban, but everyone always steps right outside the door and smokes. Hopefully you will still try and make this, even with the smoking ban! |

The last Legacy event my team held featured a cash bar. Let me tell you, best tournament ever. This should be a great event, and a lot of fun, even if you (especially if you) scrub out.

Yeah, smoking def will not be allowed at all, but outside is completely legit. No one will enforce the 25 ft rule. It's only 15 in Chicago and I've smoked adjacent to doors directly in front of cops. It's not even a thing. If you can give me a ride from UChicago, I'll roll you infinite cigarettes. |
