So it's been a long time since I've been involved in running a tournament and everyone from new england will remember how great the beanie exchange tournaments were when I was in charge of them. Since it has become obvious that several people have changed their minds about attending our tournament due to what was posted in the community forums, we are going to reward the players that do come even further. Entry fee has been dropped both days, and the prize support has stayed the same.
Saturday June 14th, Sunday June 15th
Location: Enfield Moose Lodge 125 south road Enfield, CT 06082
Direct All Calls To Travis Phone contact: Travis La Plante:(860)502-7366 Both days will be run under the UTOG. It will be a $20 entry fee day 1. $15 entry fee day 2 15 proxy allowed ELD made proxies do not count toward the number. There will be at least 1 vendor on site. The one and only Samite Healer Jeff Anand will be in attendance dealing you all the cardboard you need.
Information on the prize split offer: The official prizes are listed below and a cash split will be offered as was said. However, the cash split offered will not exceed the total amount generated in entry fees. We are not going to end up paying vintage players to come to our tournament and have a great time. We believe the value of the cards exceeds any cash value that would be distributed from any potential cash split. Jeff Anand will be there in a dealer capacity. So in case some of the winners do not want to accept the cash offered by us(if attendance is low, the split offered will reflect this.) Instead, the cards can be sold to Jeff if you wish to get cash for placing, or you can take the prize and sell on your own. The prizes are in your hands when you win them.
Again, the prizes for our tournament are as listed. We really don't believe its a tournament organizers job to be ebay for players that win the cards, but it is their job to give away amazing prizes!! We are not a store, and that is why we have a dealer onsite to supply everyone with what they need.
DAY 1 Registration starts at 9:45 am and ends at 10:45. Tournament starts at 11:00 am It will be a cut to top 8. If attendance is greater then 80 players, we will cut to top 16 with prizes given out to 9th-16th. The prize structure proposed for the top 8 is the following and would be guaranteed regardless of attendance. Cash splits will be offered at the beginning of the top 8, top 4, and the finals.
1st: 4x mishras workshop 2nd unlimited time walk 3rd unlimited mox ruby 4th 4x illusionary mask + 4x dreadnaught 5th 4x tarmogoyf 6th bazaar of baghdad 7th asian imperial seal 8th library of alexandria 9-16th (If over 80 players)Will get their entry fee back($20) plus 2 picks from an assortment of vintage swag(dual lands, fetches, foil playables) estimated value for placing 9-16: $70
DAY 2 There is a Bickford's 2 minutes from the tournament site, and next door to the Red Roof Inn. For anyone interested there is a breakfast buffet there before the tournament starts, $10.99 per person. Registration is from 11:30 - 12:30 tournament starts at 12:30pm The prize structure proposed for the top 8 is the following and would be guaranteed regardless of attendance. Cash splits will be offered at the beginning of the top 8, top 4, and the finals
1st: unlimited mox sapphire 2nd: 4x english mana drains 3rd: $100 cash + alpha balance 4th: $100 cash or an entire manaless ichorid deck without bazaars 5th-8th: get entry fee ($25) plus 2 picks from an assortment of vintage swag(dual lands, fetches, foil playables) estimated value for placing 5-8: $80
Side events all day long, 8 man single elimination $15 entry, first takes a mana drain. Bring legacy because there will also be a legacy side event, prizes TBD
Hotels nearby: Red Roof Inn 2 minutes away from tournament site 5 Hazard Avenue, Enfield, CT, United States, 06082 Phone: (860) 741-2571

I would hate to see those two event compete.

Did you even have to put "No" as an option in the poll?
Clearly.

I may be in Boston around the time this shindig goes down. If I am, I will surely attend. I highly approve of the prize structure!

Who says your allowed into our club? *chuckle* I thought you were dead Kowal? This is definitely on my To-Win list, have it in Western Mass for crazy shenanigans via the boozahol. I imagine more would come if it is in Western Mass due simply the location.

Obviously this will not be a TMD open by name, but the good news is that Ray will actually be able to play in it. Please give any suggestions that would make you want to come to this tournament. For canadian/midwest players would this prize structure make it worthwile for you to make the trip, and what could be improved there.
Holy crap...I could play in a huge event. I am sooooo there.

Kowal and I will be accepting challenges for a drinking competition for some sort of prize. Drinks will Only be Mox Sapphires and Jack in the Moxes (unless you can think of other drinks that involve power and some sort of mixer).

When did I sign up for that? I mean, I probably would participate anyway, but hell. Now I'm on the spot.
Mox Sapphire will shred your stomach like a bomb full of razor blades. It is not for the weak of gut. It also makes your mouth taste like gin and moxie, which is probably worse than death.
I give it three and a half stars.

Your signed up by association. Good Game. We will auto win due to the fact that it is for the weak of gut and being a drug mule myself and ingesting many baloons full of illicit substances has made my stomach a rock. (I am kidding by the illiicit substances, i swear their legal somehwere).

No Rich, Just No. You have to learn to share. Just because you win EVERY single important tournament doesn't mean you can just show up on your birthday and go undefeated again! I will show up with a sword made up of entirely blue elemental blasts and just follow you around all day constantly whacking you in the head if I have to.
