Coming off a very successful Black Lotus Event, I'm pleased to announce my 13th Mox Tournament.  We're returning to the site of my first ever event, Gateway Comics Etc.  With the ELD Proxies now finished, I am adding a new element to my events.  Now the Top 8 from each of my events will receive a custom card.  These will not be ELD Proxies, they could range from Proxies, to Altered Cards to Tokens.  These Custom Cards will be Gold Numbered 1-8 and be given out according to finish in the event.  The Custom Card for this event is a Metroid Mana Drain:

I appreciate all the support I've received from the community, and anticipate the continued growth of Vintage in New England.  These Custom Cards do not take away from the prize pool at all.  They are an extra way of saying thank you.

First place prize will be a Mox Jet.

Here are the details:
ELD's Mox Tournament XIII

You can pre-register by sending me an PM or e-mailing me at EricELD@comcast.net  You can also pre-register by via the Facebook Group - New England Vintage.  You do not need to pay ahead of time, this is just to get a head count.  Everyone who pre-registers will be entered into a drawing for a Foil ELD Proxy!  This one will be a foil Mox Jet.

Prizes Based off 30 people.

2nd Place - 1st pick of Playset of 4x Force of Will or Playset of 4x Foil Gush or Playset Foil Forbidden Orchards or Playset of 4x Revised Non Blue Dual Land
3rd Place - 2nd pick of Playset of 4x Force of Will or Playset of 4x Foil Gush or Playset Foil Forbidden Orchards or Playset of 4x Revised Non Blue Dual Land

or 2 cards from the PIMPED SWAG including Foils, Black boardered goodness, ELD Proxies and more.

I am going to give away the Mox Jet regardless of attendance.  Prizes will be adjusted based on attendance.  100% of the entry fees will be put towards the prizes.  That's what to expect out of all of my tournaments.

ELD Proxies do not count towards the proxy limit at ELD or Myriad Games events.  These are the ELD Proxies:

I've been receiving a lot of inquiries about my proxies and custom work.  I sell the ELD Proxies at $15 each.  I also take commissions to make any proxy.  These commissioned proxies are not considered ELD Proxies, so they do count towards your proxy count at ELD and Myriad Events.  Since several people have expressed interest, I will be making some custom work to give the Top 8 some additional options as well.

Cost
$25.

Registration begins at 10:00 AM.  Decklists must be received by 11:00 AM.  The tournament will begin at 11:30 AM sharp.  Swiss rounds based on attendance - Cut to top 8.

Proxy rules

Also -
Pizza will be available by the slice, as well as snacks and soda.
Side Drafts will take be available all day with discounted draft sets.

I will be buying cards.

      Bulk rares @ $0.10 each
      Bulk Foils @ $0.05 each
Bulk Foil Rares @ $0.25 each
I'll be buying any and all cards – turn your unwanted cards into cash!

Look forward to seeing you all there.

My Black Lotus event is the final event where I will be giving away a proxy to every player.  I will be revealing my plans for these future events as we get closer to the tournament.

How about if we make you a special proxy, we enter for free or a discounted fee depending on the quality  Very Happy Or maybe there could be a top 16 even though 9-16 wouldn't be spectacular prizes, it would still be something for the second place losers.

Please pre register me!

I think if you have another $40 lotus tourny you should take all the leftover proxys and let us play for them, the player with the higher ranking gets first pick. That would be fun.

P.S. PM me about how much it would cost for a Force of Will altered to look like Spawn, and a brainstorm that looks like the Punisher.

I am open to doing another Lotus event, as the support was fantastic.  The remaining proxies, however, are going fast.  I have even started to purchase proxies that I have run out of, as the demand is steady enough to warrant keeping an inventory.

So when your custom cards are proxies, do they count toward the proxy count?  IE, does that drain count as a proxy in your events?

Yes, those Drains will count as proxies.  ELD Proxies are only these 12 cards:

In New England, because of the ELD Proxies, deckbuilders are not limited by card availability.  With the Power 9, Shops, Bazaars and Imperial Seal available as ELD Proxies, players almost never even approach the 15 proxy limit.  With this new system, I am free to make proxies of cards that are lower in value, as well as give an option to clean up some of the more frequently proxied cards.

Thanks for clearing that up.  I agree, it's pretty easy to hit basically any deck, especially with the contributions your proxies make.

Eric,

Sean and i loved your lotus event and are looking forward to trying to make the trek up to Mass again, but i must ask, since i do not have free housing in CT for this one, are there any hotels nearby, prefferably within walking distance, of the site. Thank you and any information would be helpful.

Corey Fraser chose a set of custom brainstorms, along with a ton of other swag, for his Top 8 at my last event.  Just finished them.  I will be updating the prize support to give people the chance to chose this kind of work as an alternative to my other prizes.

Yes, it is the store with the used books.  On a related note, this will be the final ELD Mox tournament at Gateway Comics.  After many years of serving the Magic and Comics community, they will be closing up shop in May.  This is a loss to the Vintage community, as Gateway was the site of many of my events, including my first Mox Event ever.  I hope that everyone who is able will show up and help make this event a successful closing chapter for a great store.

We've got 30 pre-reg'd, so I'm hoping we'll be looking at a pumped up prize pool.  Everyone who pre-reg's by Midnight tonight will be entered into the drawing for the Foil ELD Proxy Mox Jet.  Thanks again to everyone who takes the time to let me know they'll be attending, as it makes running the events as smooth as possible.

Thank you to everyone who attended.  We had 35 players, and some of the best competition I've ever seen.  In the end, Rich Shay's Oath claimed yet another piece of power.  Congratulations to the entire Top 8, and thanks to everyone who made this event a success.  TO Report to follow.

Also, there was a deckbox left behind containing some sleeves and cards.  Please contact me if it is yours.
