As of late I haven't been posting, or even spending much time at all on TMD. This is probably because I've been reading other forums, and not even really playing Magic anyway. These other ones are mostly BMX-related (think X-Games) and is a hell of a lot different than it is here (especially in terms of moderation). So I got to wondering, what other forums do you guys read and actively post in?

I read the Internet Movie Database(IMDB) forums quite a bit. It's shocking how much different it is from TMD. There are many off-topic/just plain stupid threads, and a lot of morons/trolls. Also, there is virtually no moderation on that site, but I guess you can't really expect there to be since IMDB has about a million more posts per day than TMD.

Heh.

Other than that, uhh, does checking out the responses on Digg and Joystiq threads count?  If not, well, then none.  It is really really hard to read other forums after spending a lot of time here though, since most people are complete idiots and at least here they are forced to use punctuation.

I ride the bmx and can only hope that your talking about bmxboard. Those forums are awesome. www.bmxboard.com

I also troll around at the warseer forums. They are a dedicated Warhammer 40K forum. www.warseer.com

As a rules guru for mtgsalvation.com, I post on the Rulings Forum there quite a bit.  I used to post more on other parts of the board, but not much anymore.  I also post on a forum for my old WoW guild, although I haven't played WoW in quite some time.

The game really is hella fun.  Doesn't take much time out of your day.  I suggest choosing a color and joining an alliance ASAP.  I'm orange and in IRON (Independent Republic of Orange Nations).  Alliances can give you protection and lots and lots of cash (millions of dollars).  Plus the politics of the game are pretty insane.  Alliance wars, power grabbing, mutual defense/aggression pacts between alliances, defense blocs--its pretty awesome.

Already done Razz. I am white and in Defense Confederation. The trading is really tough to get working. I love how friendly the alliances are and how they help you get started.

Today I was thinking about how little moderation takes place in the other forums I've used. I've seen very few posts that don't break any of TMD's rules. I like to think about what would happen if Jacob Orlove took over for a day. All these huge-font fluorescent-colored posts would turn to bold red, and members would be banned by the thousands.

Most of the forums I frequent are moderated pretty well.  Of course, they mainly consist of this one, theSource, and some closed forums that I use to keep up with college friends, so there isn't much room for trollish behavior on any of them.  Still, looking at sites like the IMDB boards or ufck.com make my eyes hurt.

I spend most of my time over at The Source, but I also browse the mtg.com boards when I'm bored and I lurk on LUE over at GameFAQs.
