Tournament begins at 1 PM Note that we are going back to the times of the first tournament. Click here to download a deck registration form. 25/25/25 rule: Vintage 25-proxy unsanctioned tournament $0.25 for each proxy after 25 $25 CASH entry 1st Place = Unlimited Black Lotus (fairly played, incoming from Jeremy Sauld) 2nd Place = Beta Volcanic Island (fairly played) OR signed English Mana Drain 3rd/4th Place = Shahrazad OR Volcanic Island (RV) 5th-8th place=Plateau OR Beta Regrowth These prizes are GUARANTEED regardless of attendance. Totally random question, how's the vintage scene in/around Madison?

Idk the milwaukee area has a really good vintage scene. most tourneys are around 40 people. The lotus tourney should get a few more than that.

The Madison Scene seems somewhat weak, honestly. There are a couple guys that play, (I@n DeGraff is out there) but most of them just travel to milwaukee to play. And trust me, with the competition in Milwaukee @ the ICBM Opens, you won't be dissapointed.

The competition level at the previous ICBM Opens is at least equal to one of those 40-person Roanoke or Charlotte Starcities. Madison doesn't have any place holding sizable T1 tournaments, and their scene is pretty much centered around 5-color as far as I know.

Eep. It's a major consideration in choosing a grad school: MWS << real tournaments. I guess that's not too bad, though. I drive more than 1.5 hours for some tournaments now.

I'm still in Madison, which makes me about 1/3 of the vintage scene here as far as I can tell. But I'm really cool and totally don't blow at Magic, so we've at least got that going for us. Maybe through some miracle I'll be able to get out of working on the 6th and come down to Milwaukee, otherwise I'll just be crossing my fingers until we find someone to work on Sunday or someone holds a tournament on a Saturday. -Peter

After 13NoVa brought this tourney to my attention I have come to a 62% chance of attending this shindig. If there are three people from the Michigan/Cleveland area that want to go it will reach 100%. Reply or Pm me if your interested.
Plus, it would be Legendary to rip a lotus away from ICBM territory and take it home to Ohio. Lets dance.

If you are gonna drive up from OH I'll have to make the (short) trip as well Twaun, and then you can kiss the Lotus goodbye. Unless you bring Jerry, anyway.

remember if the tourament reaches above 50 the prizes will increase. We have been pull around 40 or so for moxen so im sure the prizes will be more than whats posted. Regardless, these tourneys are always at a great location and are always tons of fun. I hope the turnout reaches much more than expected. And besides prize payout I garentee a fun experience none the less.

It is looking bleak for an Ohio Crew making it. I do not think I can swing the gas/traveling cost by my self. I am still looking for options though.

Of course Steve isn't coming, I'm showing up to claim my second straight victory, therefore he's saving himself the $25 and staying in bed for the day.

We are at 68% chance of coming. Troops are being rallied, decks are being constructed, Devastator is being formed.
If high Lord YangTime makes the commitment we will be there.

Cmon Steve, Twaun and Yangtime are planning to make the drive, you could just hop up to Toledo or something and meet them and go with them. Don't you want a shot at a lotus?

Ugh, the Sunday ones are just too hard for me to get to since you keep scheduling them on days where I got prior commitments Ben. Move 'em to Saturdays and I'll likely put in an appearance at all of them.

Some Results:
Top 8 contained 8 different archetypes, including only one each of flash, ichorid, and tyrant oath. In the end, Jamison (with R/B goblins) and I (Tyrant Oath) met in the finals and agreed to split the prize and play one for the glory (and 1st), and I'm proud to say that even if it wasn't going back in body, the Lotus was taken back to Ohio in Spirit! I'll get a report up in the next few days. Congrats to all those in top 8 and this was a terrific tournament which was really well run, and Ben Carp did an amazing job.
