I've bought cards from him over eBay, and received them without incident. I consider myself lucky. I know of more horror stories about people overseas that had misdealings with MTGChicago.

Also, as long as we are on the subject; I have been told by the judge that DQ'd him for it that Stasch has been given a ten year DCI ban for assault.

That doesn't appear to be the case.

Yeah I heard the ruling was still pending.  But he did get kicked out of a tournament for assault.

I do know of another suspension that isn't on that list because I was forwarded an email from another TO saying that the suspended player played in his event. Perhaps the list is just for people who have already had their appeal denied. I'm not sure.

Let Google know his site is fraudulent. They will black list it.

How do I go about doing this?

I find it pathetic someone would go through the trouble to actually make a fake account and post that.

Personally the guys a scumbag , look at him and the d bags he hangs out with.  He doesnt give a shit about anyone but himself and pretty much every reputable member of the chicago comunity "in the know" will agree.  If i had the option of lifting a finger or watching him get hit by a truck I wholeheardedly would just wish I had my camera.

My dealings with him in the past have been in person and transactions have gone smoothly.  But based on the discussion here, I won't be dealing with him anymore.  I have seen him at both GP Chicago and Gencon this year so it appears he continues to do business at high profile events in the midwest should you want to confront him.

The internet crime complaint center is a good place to start as well and I would recommend filing a report with them (www.ic3.gov).  Good luck.

I was at the event he assaulted the player at.  He has a 10 year for sure.  My friend was the judge who sent the ban through.  Somehow, he has a physical store now.  Too bad no one who knows anything in Chicago will go there...

his ban is unimportant, what is important is that he's ripped off a ton of people now. somebody needs to go to the hole this guy iss hiding in and have some words with him. if i am ever in chicago again i am definately going to stop by and have some words with this piece of work. does this guy ever answer his phone?

Looks like mtgchicago is up and running again; I wonder if we could get feedback from some of the original posters (eric, etc) to see if stasch had ever remedied his business dealings with you.

well, this guy just called me back after i called him on a lark today, saying that he sent me a check for a 2nd shipment of cards which i never received and that we didnt have any outstanding business. i find that kind of humorous when he ignored me and plenty other customers during the period where whatever happened with his business happened. he was very condescending towards me, saying my cards werent worth anything. i know full well that i never received a 2nd check from this guy, when i asked him if he keeps record of that sort of thing, he said oh no, maybe a few months.

im curious as to whether others who have been taken for a ride by stasch the scam artist have ever gotten their money from the guy. i guess in his mind, its easy for him to say 'oh i paid you' when he never did, and he took off with a few hundred dollars worth of cards from me and who knows how much from other people as well. the fact that now, years later, when the guy finally gets around to actually calling back that he was overly insulting saying that i gave him bad cards and this and that. i guess when people are sending you cards and you arent morally obligated to make good on your business dealings that its easy to get a little cocky.

not only that, the guy hung up on me and then did it repeatedly when i tried to call him back to ask him if he could look into his records and produce a copy of this check that i was never sent. i hope karma has something real special in store for this guy, he should be avoided like the plague. dont do business with this guy if you havent already, and if you have and he's screwed you over, call him up and waste his time and make it known to him that he's doing bad business.

i have dealt with scammers that are far worse than him in my time. i kind of get the idea that he called me back after all this time just to fuck with me and rub it in my face that he ripped me off for such a large amount of cards. he even went as far to say that he didnt want to pay me for the cards that i sent because they were in such bad condition (yeah right, my unlimited duallands that were only played in sleeves, the mox diamonds, the sinkholes, the serendibs) but his associate convinced him to pay me out of pity. i never got a check from him, he said he has no record of a returned check. im curious as to how many other people may have gotten the same kind of song and dance from this guy.

I'm glad to see people are still passing the word around about this guy.  I live in Indiana and on the rare occasion I go to an event in Indy (PTQ, GP, etc.) he's been there selling cards (as a dealer) to people who don't know/care that he's a crook.  I've tried to pass the word as best I can, but it's sad how few people seem to really care.  The last time I saw him was at GenCon where he and his former/maybe again current business partner had a booth.

All I can say is that when he's at an event and cards are stolen the first people suspected are the urchins that follow in his wake at every event; that doesn't mean they're guilty but they have a reputation.  Unfortunately the guy still obviously makes money because he's still renting booth space and selling as many cards as ever.

I think Staush is already banned for assaulting someone at a tournament.

im going to call his business every single day until i get my money, if nothing i can be a nuisance legally to him. businesses have to keep returned checks on file 8 years according to the irs. this guy is lying his ass off about how much he's ripped people off and right around now is when he's startin to get cocky about it, so hopefully we can take this guy down a notch and let as many people know as possible about how much he's ripped people.

So this douchenozzle somehow showed up at my local shop today. I didn't know who he was till he left, but he was stocking up on a bunch of stuff for "bulk orders." He kinda rubbed me the wrong way, which totally makes sense after finding out who he was.

Saw him again a few days ago at my shop, he was buying up tons of bulk stuff for orders. I was confused by this since that would imply he would be actually selling/shipping it, but maybe this was for in person dealing or something.

I was surprised to see this too, maybe Saito doesn't really know what has gone on. Saito is one of the best in the game and really well liked so he must have been paid a decent chunk for that.

Yea I talked to Saito and asked him why he was wearing that shirt.  I explained that it wasn't the best idea for his reputation and I steered him towards some other better websites.
