With less than a week to go, I'm looking forward to seeing what the new Meta will be. This Monday Night Vintage showed some interesting new decks succeeding. While I don't agree with the choices the DCI made, they have certainly shaken stuff up. I hope the community uses this event to show that the the rumors of Vintage's death have been greatly exaggerated. See you guys on Saturday!

I'm gonna try to make it out if CVD decides to go. I can't get up there by myself because my car sucks and gas is expensive. Also any word on what people were playing on monday night? I'm curious to see what other people came up with.

Monday Night Vintage deck breakdown:
1 Mana'd Ichorid 1 Red Workshop Aggro w/ Bazaar/Uba 1 Control Slaver 1 4c Workshop Fish (homebrew that my brother and I have been working on, plays 3 Shops, rainbow lands, TfK, Welder, Gorilla Shaman, artifact fat, tutors, Chalice/Trini, Duress/Seize, StP. It's really weird.) 1 Mono Blue something (Drain, Meloku, Phid, but I think I saw Volcs too) 1 Stax 1 U/B Confidant Tendrils
I was playing Tendrils and went 3-0, pretty much running over the 3 Workshop players I faced. Rebuild is insane, letting me do stupid stuff like winning through quadruple Sphere or Trinisphere + Chalice at 0 and 1.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. With the metagame completely shaken up, this results of this event will be the first step towards defining the new format. I will be selling singles tomorrow for Vintage tomorrow, so if you need anything obscure, be sure to e-mail me tonight to make sure I bring it. I will have typical Vintage cards, as well as my binders of Betas, Foils, ELD Proxies and Foreign goodness.
I'm donating a custom Proxy Library of Alexandria to this event, and it will be given out at random to one lucky player who carpooled to the event.
See you guys tomorrow!

There was a lot of Control Slaver. Welcome back to 2005 in New England. T00L and Nick split the win. Congratulations. The event was well run and fun.

Should have played Grim Long. I've never understood that about the NE, why does no one play Long and smash all of you?

ugh 6 out of 8 CS. How much of the field was CS? I'm not going to lie, I only played Dredge because I didn't have the time to build CS. I did, however, have the time to finish the Library of Alexandria Proxy that was given out, as well as getting set up to sell cards like crazy. I tried to have everything that people could be looking for, and at great prices. I look forward to working with Batter's Up again in August!

We don't play Long because none of us own Grim Tutors, and several of us don't like to play with proxies. Maybe if ELD made some nice looking ones, I'd consider playing it....hint hint.

I've got the pulled for them already. At my event on the 19th, we will take a vote for the next proxy. No matter what the vote determines, I'll be making 10 proxies total. 2 in silver - for door prizes at ELD's Mox XVI and Batter's Up $400 event in August and 8 in gold for the Top 8 at ELD's Mox XVI.

I'm rather curious what the Slaver lists look like. Anything like duress main or other anti-combo cards, or just in the board? 6/8 CS in a top8 does seem like it is begging for even an average GrimLong pilot to just clean house.

Cryptic command and vexing shusher?
Any reason for not just going:
-1 Triskellion -1 Pentavus +1 Triskelavus +1 Something relevant ?
Oh and whats the 3x mogg fanatic in the SB for? Removing bridge from below?
I'm puzzled.

You should consider selling 1 of your Foil Jap Welders to buy a playset of Grims.

I would post my top 4 slaver list but the truth is you guys probably do not want it! Just ask tool I built it @ mcdonalds! Slaver just happens to be such a good deck that any decent play can pilot it to a top 8. I actually like rich shays shusher/cryptic technology!
