Greetings all! Our first Vintage Tournament here in Boulder was, a disgrace. Four rounds of swiss were played, with no cut to anything--if that gives you an idea of the turnout.

Some issues where sent to me, concerning the day the tournament was held. I can guess that somewhere between ten and fifteen people were left out last time around, so let's take those suggestions and work with them.

Here we go, our second Vintage Event:

Where: Time Warp Comics & Games

3105 28th St
Boulder, CO 80301
(303) 443-4500

When: Saturday, August 16th. AND Sunday August 24th. That's right, two events this month! Both will start at 1PM, with registration at Noon.
Notice that this time around, we've dodged all PTQs, GPTs, and even good old GP Denver--where the Japanese will most likely swoop down upon us and embarass us on our own turf. Hopefully Cheon will be done jetsetting the world and filming reality TV shows to return to defend the homeland then, though I doubt he'll come and play the T1 tournaments.

What: 10$ USD. 90% or better of money that comes into the store will get paid out. The past THREE cash tournaments held at this venue have had 100% pay outs. The top four or eight (pending entrants) will decide, prior to the start of single elimination rounds, exactly how that money is paid out.

How: Unlimited proxy. No one has asked for a change to this, so I'll assume it's what the players want. It's what I want, because I just sold my collection. Yup, I'm down to a Wheel of Fortune and a Yawgmoth's Will for T1 playables. But this isn't about me. I support it, but tell me if you don’t. Again, feedback will influence future tournaments.

WHY: WHY NOT?

The past tournament was won by a fifteen year old kid known by the locals as 'fetus'

Meandeckers, CO Crew, and former vintage world champions alike where shunned in his wake--whipped and disgraced like a pack of flea ridden dogs. They were beaten mercilessly like gongs.

I heard a rumor he will be playing at the Vintage World Champs. Beware! That is all ye know, and ye need to know!

And so much for all that. Join us, will ya? I will actually escape the savage clutches of Atzlan and be back there for college, and able to play. Since a good deal of shit talking usually proceeds these, let me start by saying that I'm going to have two finals appearances. No more getting whooped on by nine year old girls for me, no sir. Long is good again, and the two times I played it in 06 were both finals appearances.

HA HA, with a start like that, I bet you all want to show up and try to ruin my dreams. You should. Whatever it takes to get you guys to keep the scene going in Black Gold's wake. Even if I have to make a public fool of myself a whole bunch.

Ciao

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make either of these.

I was one of the very unlucky ones to attend the last one.  The best part of the event (besides it ending) was my last round encounter with Lou.  The trash talking was almost getting out of hand.  Not only do I suck at Magic but also at crazy-ass rules lawyering.

Seriously --- Good luck with these events Steve.  Hopefully, all of the glitches from that tournament have been worked out.

I will definitely not be able to make the first one, but hopefully I'll be back in time for the second one.

I miss Colorado.

Actually that would be better for me too, as I have to move in that day to my new apartment.

I will see what I can do. Any objections guys?

Let's have a good turnout, and get ready to lose, bitches!

I may make a rare showing...

Also, Trav, I've been hearing stories of your savage rudeness to my boy Matt Reynolds! In the words of Lou, "Take it easy." Wink
