We will very much miss Cody running the tournoments, but I am hoping to do as good of a job as he did. We need players to have a tourney so please make the trip out here to throw down and play some Vintage! Prizes are based on the number of players. I posted above what it is based on 20 players, but I will adjust according to players so that I make NO PROFIT on running this event! All entry fee money goes directly to the players!
I hope everyone can make this, but lets post up this thread like we usually do! Vintage is back and its all CASH!!!!
Current confirmed players: 4 (last updated August 9 at 3:14 AM)

Looks good... I encourage everyone to go out to these events and support Vintage in SE. I don't want to sound like I'm lecturing anyone, but if you're thinking about going, do it! If people wait to see how these new tourneys turn out before they go, the Vintage scene may never build up if everyone is waiting to see what happens. If everyone who is thinking of going goes, the first tournament will be great and people will have confidence in future ones. So, go to this one Geoff- You forgot to list a reg/start time for this event. Also, you should post all announcements on the SCG boards (if you haven't) b/c there will be a few people who check those and find out about the events there. Best of luck.

If I can make the trip I'll be bringing at least 2-3 people with me.

@bronxie - what's being done to bring in new local players?
The last event had very few local players that weren't associated with Arsenal in some way and having made an eight hour round trip for a 16 player event was very dissappointing.

i am doing everything i can to bring in locals from Sports Zone. for those you know him, Red Hat (Andrew) will be playing with us for the next one and i am trying to get more. Most people are too scared by thinking that they need to buy power to be successful so i think that making it excruciatingly clear about 20 proxies is the way to go.

I'll try to make this if I can, however it looks like it might cut into vacation time with my family so my attendance it tentative at best.

What about doing something like free entry fees for anyone playing in there first Vintage tournament? Obivously the prize pool wouldn't grow b/c it's their first tournament, but it'd help grow the scene for future tournaments.

I would assume not since the general principle is just to follow the DCI changes...which don't take affect until September 20. Another reason for not changing it, even though he could, is that people will not find out until they arrive, and then you have people arriving with decks for two different formats. I would strongly recommend using the "old" (aka current) list for this event.

It sounds like Charleston has a hurricane on the way. Any chance I could crash at someone's house on Friday and Saturday nights?

Same. If I had my own place, I would be first to volunteer.

Actually, they probably do have rituals for sale, but they want like $2 each for them. Anyway, forget it, turns out I can't make it because of the weather. Things change fast! Bring me some Rituals!
