Just a pair of brief announcements with one week left: 1. Starting with this tournament I will be giving a prize for last place. This time it will be one of these pewter life counters. The last-place prize will be awarded to the player who is in last place in the final standings. Players must complete all rounds in order to be eligible; you can't drop early and still qualify. 2. Starting with this tournament the winner will receive a 1-round bye for my upcoming two-day double power event. That's right, I'm planning to do a full double P9 event sometime in the spring. 18 pieces of power. Two days of Vintage. If Starcity won't run them out here then I damn well will. This bye will only be awarded to the winner of the finals. That means that a full match must be played out in order to determine the winner. Byes cannot be split, traded, bought, or sold. Byes are cumulative up to a possible 3-round bye. I may or may not offer more byes in the future to winners of other large tournaments; we'll have to see.

bump, only a few days away everyone. Come support the event. BTW alcohol is served on site for those who are over 21, and its at a bowling alley, so if u scrub out u can bowl a few rounds until your friends are done.

I'll be there for sure with an ever-growing group of out-of-state-ers. This thing should be awesome. If nothing else, I will enjoy watching Soly complain about his bad luck when he scrubs out and then complain more about his bad luck when he can't even bowl well.

Drinking Contest. Hands down. Whoever pukes last, wins. Not twenty-one? Shouldn't have top8ed then, should you?

I'm in for bowling. I'll bring my bowling gear in case this happens. What happens if two people bowl perfect games? Is it best of three?

The car of GWS pwnage is totally showing up. Minus Phil. So I guess that's just Fisher and me, but we have enough pwnage on reserve to make up for the Phil loss.
The Care Bears will be in attendance as well. Can we get them involved in the drinking contest?

For a minute there, I thought that was a veiled insult at the Chicago Bears, especially considering Kyle Orton's ability to get shitfaced and have pictures posted about it on the Internet. That's our opening day starting QB! <slams head against desk repeatedly>

OMG I just go to the Baymount for the tournament and apparently every single way you look up directions for this place sends you the wrong way. Very very lame! Can't wait for the tournament though!

an excellent tournament - the venue was excellent too. I finished 10th at 4-2. It's amazing that playing with good cards leads to a positive record. Jaco and Soly finished right behind at 11 and 12. At one point Soly had imbibed more drinks (4) than he had wins (2) - the advantages of having it in a room with a bar. Props to the people who drove up from Kentucky.

To be fair, I started drinking at 12:10 PM, and I was 2-0 at the point I had 4 drinks in me!

I played UBg Drain Tendrils, placing 11th because I lost to Stifle-naught (should have smashed him, but he drew like a champ and I literally drew 7 mana sources in a row), and losing to the worst belcher player I've ever met. Oh well.
