Ok my brethern, I got the goods this time.

October 19th, 2008 we will be holding a 15 proxy tournament for a Unlimited Mox Jet.

But that's not all. Second place gets an Underground Sea, and Third a Savannah.

Dan Frazier will be there, and I have to imagine that he'll sign that Mox Jet.

Doug Shuler might be in attendence, though I cannot promise that at this juncture. Still a maybe.

So let's just review the facts:

Time Warp Comics & Games

3105 28th St
Boulder, CO 80301
(303) 443-4500

Sunday October 19th. 11 AM Registration, tournament starts at noon.

15$ gets you 15 proxies, but wait--there's more! Additonal proxies can be purchased at 50 cents a pop.

Last time I posted some tournaments, I went so far as to challange people to come and try to beat me. Well, given that I've had two finals appearances in my last two tournaments here in this fine state, I will just have to keep banging you locals like gongs.

Ha ha! With a comment like that, I hope SOMEONE can prove me wrong. Razz

Steve, two things.....
1) Beating you is not a challenge.
2) Stillmoon Cavalier is not a win condition  Razz

Seriously though, I'll make an effort to have Team Black Gold represent at this one.  Sounds like it will be an event not to be missed.

And I certainly hope you guys come, the more the merrier!

I especially hope you come carl. It's sad to say that only three local players have winning records against me in vintage. And while Scotty Limoges (1-0) and Travis Spero (2-0) might be expected, you now have a 2-1 lead against me. And I just have to at least even that up  Very Happy

You guys are all fucking toast at this event. I am going to bring my A game and win that Mox. I am also going to bring one Scott Limoges with me and hopefully talk Bob Jew into joining the fun.

Damn, I really hope I am in town for this one. I might be in Dallas.

Ed Word and Time Warp are bringing the fucking heat with this one.

A Mox Jet and Dan Frazier. Shit son.

I heard tell from Jerry Yang that with a months notice, a car-full of Ohioans (sp? wtf?) might try to make a Colorado tournament. I'm sure couches/chairs/floors can be found for all parties wanting to make the trek to beautiful Boulder, CO. Come see what it's like to play Magic a mile high.

Carl winning an event? Come on guys, the Crew obviously needs to show up and represent.

Like an hour...I'd be happy to pick up peeps from the airport with enough notice. Unfortunately, my place cannot hold anyone. It's a serious pile.

If Scotty Lucksack shows, so may I...

You need to find three other knuckleheads and get a road trip to Colorado in the works.  You'll drive through such inspirations as Gothenburg, KS and fucking Iowa City.

The Colorado Crew? What a bunch of tier two players those guys are  Wink

If people from Ohio show up, I will shit myself. Then I'll slap it between two slices of bread and leave it out in the open and see if anyone punches it.

In all seriousness, I might have to actually playtest in order to win this one.

The prize support has just increased! I am donating my Grim Tutor to second place or wherever Ed would like it to go. It's a little beat but it is still a Grim Tutor.

This is probably the biggest prize support Colorado has seen. This should be an epic event.

THE Scotty Lucksac will be in attendance, along with the Clown of Tresserhorn (aka Harrison Ford fan #1). Watch out Colorado, you are about to get savaged by the mediocrity of two has-beens!

thats great news! we had an eight man today, and jewlighting stood true to his intial word and brought his A game . . .

of course, when we cut to top 4, only I wanted to do winner take all  Very Happy

there has been some questions asked about the proxies. here are the rules: they must be clearly marked cards. No backwards cards please, only basic lands or cards with the same mana cost with the appriopriate rules text and new card name. The more obscure the card, or more rules text it has, the more is needed. Dont just write "helm of obidience" and 4, artifact.

For example, your basic island/mountain/plains with Ancestral Recall--U Instant is welcome (we all know what it does right?) So is your air bladder, jump, or gigadrose with the old name marked through, and Ancestral recall written in. Your (reaches for random card nearby) Loxodon gatekeeper is not welcome as an ancestral recall--unless you mark it as an instant, put it's mana cost in, and change the name. Please remove as much of the limited relevant text on him too, please.

I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY FOIL PROXY CARDS. THE DAYS OF CHEATER ANCESRALS ARE OVER.

K? everyone peachy?

this should be an interesting tournament! who all is coming?

If you are going to outlaw foil proxies then you should outlaw foils in general. You can have some pretty busted foil cards that you always want to draw. Ancestral is probably the best, but still there are some busted foil cards like Yawg's Bargain. That's just my two cents.

It's awesome that I still have FOIL:

Bargain
Brainstorm
Ponder
Tendrils
Gifts
ISLANDS

I will be one cheating ass Asian, as I know I can't beat Cheon fair square in VIntage, but I could definitely take him down in every other aspect of life.

I believe 4-6 of us from Black Gold will represent.  I don't care how well I do as long as I beat Fucking Lou!  Wink

Here's my decklist that I plan on winning with....

51 Swamp
1   Tomb of Urami (alt. win condition)
4   Serum Powder
4   Kormus Bell

No sideboard!

I'm sure we will see Tomb of Urami and maybe Serum Powder in your black Stax list, but one thing is for sure, you will not be beating me.

Still undecided on what to play, but I'm pretty sure I'll be taking this event down.

I think GP Kansas City will hurt attendance a little bit, but this should still be a monster!

i ought not, I will not. There is simply no reason. It is not a slippery slope. Please use a dictionary before making such ridiculous claims.

GP kansas will be taking at least four of our normal players, Cheon included.

EDIT: carl is clearly going to play parfait. He's been joking about it for years, and now he's been given the push he needs to actually play it.

@ Bob not only do you beat Cheon at life, but you will definitely beat him at Vintage any day of the week. I mean Dobby destroyed him in the CS mirror.

@ Carl you definitely won't be taking this event down because the Colorado Crew will actually be in attendance at this event.

@ Steve I appreciate the A game comment, but I must admit it was probably not my A game. I had to play against Harry who didn't know how to play his deck, and Shiloh who should have wrecked me, but I got two Goyfs into play.

Yea, Unfortunately I gotta head out to Kansas City in my efforts to become a real boy... err Magic Player.

Gotta keep the money streak at Grand Prixs alive after all, pro points help the cause as well.

But hopefully this is an awesome tourney and anyone other than that smelly ass Asian wins. Bob Yu ruined Fact or Fiction for me... Smile
