With Shards around the corner and the fact that this was a small Mox tourney I opted for a fun deck as opposed to a real deck. And yes, it was fun as hell. The deck I chose to play was basically a Life from the Loam deck with Intuition and Demigod of Revenge in it:

4 Demigod of Revenge

4 Force of Will
3 Strategic Planning
4 Intuition
4 Life from the Loam
3 Deep Analysis
2 Exploration
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Regrowth
1 Time Walk
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Brainstorm
1 Raven's Crime
1 Fastbond

4 Mox Diamond
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Black Lotus
4 Bazaar of Baghdad
1 Maze of Ith
3 Wasteland
2 Mishra's Factory
1 Strip Mine
4 Tropical Island
2 Wooded Foothills
2 Polluted Delta
3 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
SB
4 Leyline of the Void
4 Chalice of the Void
3 Ancient Grudge
2 Krosan Grip
1 Ray of Revalation
1 Mishra's Factory

The basic idea behind it was to abuse Mox Diamond and decks like this always have a hard time against storm combo so I tried to see if I could fit Force.

4 Intuition: was insane for me all day just milling 1 Demigod then getting 3 more for the kill out of nowhere was pretty awesome. Otherwise id get piles of like Loam/Urborg then Strip Mine and Raven's Crime. Also if this was my only blue card while holding Force of Will, getting 3 Deep Analysis was very powerful as well.

4 Demigod of Revenge: neat kill, can only cast it off Urborg but I'm a loam deck so that's not really a problem, and the urborgs have other uses in here too. I like this as opposed to Tarmogoyf since I can race random decks like even when Demigod is bad he can still crack for 10 before they know a clock is on them.

3 Strategic Planning: Ive gone on record saying this card sucks, and it still does. But my main argument was because in slaver there was virtually no way to take advantage of the graveyard so when you cast planning there are no tricks its just worse-than Impulse. In here as you can see there are many ways to take advantage of cards I mill on top of the fact that the deck has few early plays and few blue cards for Force.

2 Exploration: a weak card but when your loaming it lets you actually get ahead, its exceptional against fish and stax where your loam plan is very good. I only play two since I never wanna see two and I can intuition for 2 Exploration 1 Fastbond if Ive milled 3 Demigods/Regrowth and can't kill right away.

3 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth: one of the best cards in the deck, single-handedly casts Demigod and lets you go DI with Raven's Crime. Yes, its legendary but with 4 Mox Diamond and the mechanic Retrace as well as 4 Bazaar im fine with 3 of these.

4 Chalice of the Void: before the tournament I had a Bayou and 4 Duress in this spot for the combo matchup but was convinced that Chalice is better against combo while also stopping Tormod's Crypt which was the main reason I had Pithing Needle. So I made the switch and put Krosan Grips in the extra slot, though Chalice was very good for me the logic that it stops Tormod's Crypt is pretty flawed since if your on the draw it sucks and you have to bring it in against every deck. If I were to play this deck again id have 3 Needles in my sb.

Round 1 vs Ben Carp with Oath
g1 he gets out Oath and creatures before I can muster up a fight.
g2 he mulligans to 3 and I barley win.
g3 long game but he gets it.

Round 2 vs U/R Fish
g1 my hand is terrible and he wins.
g2-3 my deck works perfect starting with Loam and Diamond running wild.

Round 3 vs ICBM Tendrils
g1 he has a t1 kill starts with some Rituals plays a Yawgmoth's Will for storm, which I Force of Will, he casts Wheel of Fortue with the mana he had left floating and plays a Storm Entity which I also Force of Will. I Raven Crime his hand into nothing and intuition for Demigod a few turns later and swing for 20.
g2 he mulls to 5 and doesn't draw anything

Round 4 vs Shops with Metalworker
g1 goes real long but I end up getting an big advantage with Exploration Bazaar and Loam. He had 2 Sphere of Resistance Triskeltion and Metalworker while I used Strip Mine and Raven Crime to destroy all his lands and hand. I eventually draw Demigod and he scoops.
g2 I keep a solid hand but he plays t1 Trinisphere and I lose.
g3 I mull to 5 and my hand is miserable, I cast 1 spell.

2-2 =/ but its only 22 players so I may be in with a win.

Round 5 vs U/R Landstill
g1 I open with Fastbond and t1 Intuition for Strip Raven Crime and something else. Shortly after he has no permanents and no lands.
g2 Much of the same but without the broken cards, I think this game was less about me decimating his permanents and hand and more about him tapping out and me casting Intuition for 20 damage.

8th place, horray!

t8 vs Ben Carp Oath
g1 goes real long as he oaths up Akroma with Hellkite stuck in hand, but I had Raven's Crimed him earlier so he discarded Hellkite and was going to oath it up soon to get past my Maze of Ith. Game came down to me having 15 cards left in my deck and needing to hit Demigod in 4 draw steps and missing my 1 outer.
g2 I get a good start and he Extirpates my Life from the Loams and remarks how I boarded out all my Demigods so my only win is Mishra's Factories. I drop Chalice at 2 and lock out his whole hand, Factory beatdown gets there.
g3 Goes a little long and at one point he Wastelands my Mishra's Factory and Extirpates it sacrificing Black Lotus thinking id have no outs, but I boarded back in 1 Demigod so im live. Hes left with a Mox Ruby and Demigod rolls off the top next turn thanks to Bazaar and cracks for lethal.

t4 vs U/R Fish
g1 he gets a stellar draw and I make a few small mistakes that add up, tighten up!
g2 My draw is very fast and I loam his face.
g3 boils down to a very close few turns where I play demigod and swing for 10, we are both at 7 life. he has Sage of Epityr, Ninja of Deep Hours, and Mishra's Factory. He starts his turn by casting Cloud of Faeries and attacking me for 5 then Ninjutsu in a second Ninja. Now he could have just had lethal right there since he could activate Mishra's Factory pump itself to a 3/3 then use Cloud of Faeries to untap it and send with Ninja and Mishra using 2nd Ninja to deal exactly 7. So he bashes me for 5 and thinks for a while before passing with a Volcanic Island up and Sage of Epityr still in his hand. I take my turn and Wasteland his Volcanic to see if he has any tricks, he doesnt, so I fire up my Mishra Factory and send for exactly lethal.

Finals vs Oath im willing to split as I had to struggle vs oath the other times I played it.

I've been kicking my Ur Fish ass for 2 days now. I completely forgot you has a Mishra's Factory of your own.

I could have redropped my Sage and had enough chump blockers and swung for the win next turn too. (and forgot to draw from Ninja)

Earlier, I could have REBed your Strategic Planning and avoided you getting a second Demigod in your yard too.

AHH!! Fudge!

Cool innovative deck Owen, Well done!!! You were Loaming like crazy each game!

No Crop Rotation eh? Had you considered something like Rifstone Portal?

I'm not sure whether to call this good or just lucky, but I sure as hell will say I'm impressed. Keep up the innovations sir!

ICBM Tendrils is just how people know decks of a similarity.    5 color mana base, using red spells +  black spells to get storm.  Plays ManaMorphose.    I wish the deck name was just 'Manamorph Tendrils" or something, but idk.

Accepted. I don't think i'll play that style for a while untill the name changes. i do admit it was a form of ICBM Tendrils.

What does ICBM stand for anyway.

You've obviously never taken the time to get to know some of those guys. They definitely have some unique personalities, not to mention nice/friendly people.
Remember that time ben bought everyone at the tournament pizza? There was also a number of out of town events they've picked me up and driven me to as well, not to mention all the cards they've let my snag to make proxy limit. Considering I had no idea who these dudes were until I started chatting with them at events, they've been more than polite.

God, free pizza, rides, and loans. These guys must be total dicks.

I suppose it is pretty disappointing that you feel that way about us.  We just choose to work together because there is an inherent strength in surrounding yourself with other people who are good at something, whether that is magic, art, business, etc.  But judging from the fact I have no idea who you are I'm guessing you don't have much or a shining personality either.

But when people act like there better than me, and make it seem like what i do is no good, I am sure that everyone started out a pro.. I just want to play and learn to be better at my game, not be riticuled for one lowsey noob mistake, FUCK, would it take to much out of you day to explain the mistake I did, and then i can laugh to and not hate you all. Very Happy

even though im not on the team i strongly disagree these remarks, i have been friends with seroogy and partially kempfer bassically since i got into vintage.
bassically everyone on ICBM are actually pretty good guys, if u have a problem with how they are acting tell them about it, im sure they can be mature =P
but back to the point i was told quite a while ago ICBM stands for "I can beat MeanDeck" but i could of been mis-informed

It's true.  Although, that might be because I've personally been there when you've played such hits as 4 Color Magus of the Moon fish and this last one, Some Random Fish Creatures with a sideboard full of Mind Twists and Phyrexian Furnaces.  Who cares if ICBM makes fun of your deck?  The best way to 'shut them up' is to do well.  Have you been around Owen when someone even hints about the name Strategic Planning?  Everyone can have their own opinions about cards, and if you do well, they are forced to respect your choices.  Don't take it so personally.

I don't care. Damnit Jimmy, you were supposed to play along and spit 4 lines of heat like Twaun and I.

I played such hits as 4C Magus because I thought it would be funny to see how many decks simply fold to Magus of the Moon, and I was right that day, making Top 4. The last deck I played was a Confidant/Tarmogoyf/Mystic Remora masterpiece created the night before/morning of because I simply like those cards, and did pretty well with them. I'm definitely not complaining. I think it's funny for people to say how bad of a card Dark Confidant is (compared to say, Thirst for Knowledge, or some other mediocre card draw engine), and then lose game after game to him when I play it. I really do. ; )
