As most of you are no doubt aware, the Mana Leak has been largely inactive for some months now, and the quality has really slipped. Consequently, the Format, Proven and Development forums have been archived, although tournament announcements are still welcome in this forum, along with tournament reports and the like.

For Legacy strategy, deck, format and card discussions, I suggest either The Source or the SCG forums, although die-hards can post in the Casual Forum or Standard, Extended, Block, Limited Forum if they must (as appropriate for the nature of the deck).

It has been a fun 4 years, but it's also time to move on.

Edit: Have added links to the archived forums above. Please don't post in them.

Wow. TML is where I came first when I decided that I wanted to play legacy. It's also the home to a few of my favorite decks including IGGy Pop and Golden Grahams.

This is a pretty somber moment for me right now. And I think a moment of silence is in order.

I think the most surreal thing is when a complete stranger you meet at a tournament hears your name and goes "Oh, yeah. I've read your stuff." It's kind of weird, yet feels good all at the same time.

Given the activity there, I don't think that will be a problem.

Did you delete all the content?  That's too bad.  Having the old content around is often good for reference of how different things worked and possible deck ideas.

I mean, we just re-found these: http://zherbus.proboards19.com/index.cgi and were having a good time looking at them.

The boards are still there, but aren't linked on the main page. I'll add links accordingly to the starting post, which will no doubt help.

I'm saddened by the change as well, but in the end we provide a better service by directing people to an area that is better maintained and populated.

Threshold, (Hanni-)Fish, Gamekeeper and Tendrils decks all had their roots here. If you hate playing against combo in Legacy, it's our fault here at TML for developing and legitimising the early combo decks. If Blue-based tempo decks really get you down, that's partly our fault, too. Our bad Wink.

Sad to hear.  I quit playing magic after Grand Prix Flash, but once in a while check out the sites just to see what's up.  Hope you all come up with some kick-@$$ stuff wherever you post.

This is crap. How many posts does it require for TMD to keep the any forums up? Is the effect of the economy affecting this website or something? People had a place to go to for info and now it's gone. I don't have a problem checking other websites, I just was partial to this one. Maybe next time we could all have a warning or something that we weren't posting enough to keep any child boards open.

It's not like Legacy is a fast changing format or something. We do research on a particular deck, when a tournament comes around, we test our ideas out, and then we make posts here. Well, I guess that not everyone has patience for this. I'm sorry for that. I hope this doesn't make the format so foreign to newcomers that it slows down even more.

For info on tournaments and stores, this board is still around and used. For the rest of it, most of what was being posted was Casual (which can still be posted in Casual), so there wasn't much call for the other boards any more. Although there wasn't any notice given, the boards went largely inactive for the best part of a year, so it's not like there wasn't plenty of time to turn it around.

Considering i am a new member of the Mana Drain family and have been reading / learning so much over the past few days I have noticed many forums here had a last post June 09 or later soo...  still a sad thing ... Someone should start a specific legacy board within casual..  shouldnt be a problem right?

Shouldn't this be up again? There are quiet some TMDers also playing legacy and I for one don't like to go back and forth to all the different sites. I'd like to discuss legacy with vintage players who have a much better understanding of the game.
