This place is behind a giant mall. There is a buffalo wild wings right next door. A bank around the corner, and the mall has a billion things to eat.

Registration begins at 10:00 AM and ends at 12:45 PM. Round 1 will begin around 1:00 PM.

Click here to download a deck registration form.

25/25/25 rule:
Vintage 25-proxy unsanctioned tournament
$0.25 for each proxy after 25
$25 CASH entry

All proxies must follow these guidelines. Otherwise I will be extremely ****ed off at you.

1st Place = Unlimited Mox Sapphire ($325 approx value)
2nd Place = Library of Alexandria ($125 approx value)
3rd/4th Place = Underground Sea /Japanese Grindstone (70 approx value)
5th-8th place = 4x Force of Will ($80 approx value)

These prizes are GUARANTEED regardless of attendance. As it is, I break even at 23-ish people. I will increase prize support if we get over 27 people. This is VINTAGE. You will be in attendance. This is not optional.

T1 is not the most played format in the Pittsburgh area. This is the start of building it up. Consider coming, should be an “interesting” local field

Please note that this is on a Saturday.

Any questions feel free to contact me.

Only 26 more days, as far as I know I got a crew from WVU/fairmont coming up, as well some Pitt players, and I some how got like 6 people at my store to pick up T1 for the first time ever in the past week and we are looking for a decent turnout.

If you plan on coming, please post so I get an idea if I need to pick up extra tables/chairs (currently got room for 32ish players). Remember, we are only an 45min. south of Pittsburgh near a major highway!

I'd consider this if there weren't two other local events happening the same day.
Philly is offering up a FULL playset of duals and power blue (that is crazy good prize support, well over double yours!)...
Ohio has a double day event! So cash and moxen spread over a weekend....
not to mention both of those events were planned well before yours.

Good luck though!  Very Happy

Philly is well over double a lot of people with that one ,hah

I got 2 from philly, 4 from pitt, 7-10 from the local store, 3-4 WVU people, and at least 2 from my town confirmed coming.

So 6 other randoms show up I break even, if not, guess I will just have to win my own mox. Hah

Its this weekend! Hope to see ya all there!

Also, I will be buying so after ya empty your pockets for black friday, you can reload for cyber monday!

I would be interested in how many people showed up too. I am curious since he posted this tourney after the HeroZone Ohio tourney was posted.

There were about 15-16 people. the top 8 was UWG fish, 2x Slaver, MUC w/Tezz, Ichorid, Time to Grind, Ad Nauseam, and something else. I lost in the first round of the T8 and left some time after that. I would like to see results aswell.

I think there were 17 ppl at this event.
I was originally slated to go to Philly with the rest of my crew, but I went out for my Birthday the night before. I was WAY to hung over to make the trip, but was jonesing to play cards as I put a lot of time into fixing up my build of Ichorid. So I decided to go to this event.

In terms of an event: This was an epic fail .. VERY low attendance (I'm sure it had something to do with the fact that it was posted AFTER 2 other events were planned)  It seemed pretty obvious the TO took a massive hit on the prizes.
I will say there was a VERY casual atmosphere (which is a nice change of pace), as it seemed like some people playing were friends of the TO, forced into playing to help his event.
There was no judge on hand and there really should have been.

1st place was Chris Lepay playing Time to Grind -You will find his list under the Nov 22nd PGH tournament results (I am uncertain if he made changes)  - Congrats on this win Chris; long over due!

2nd was a guy they called shockey? He was a really nice guy who was handed a deck 5 minutes before the event by the TO and told to win (pretty amusing, as he had no idea what was in the deck!) He was playing Meandeck Tezzeret (The mono blue version with Ophidians)

3rd (based on standings) was me, playing Ichorid.. Shockey and I played in the finals and went back and forth a game and then decided on a split which was good, as it felt like a 50/50 crap shot going into game 3. - We sent him in to the finals, as it seemed like his deck would steam roll.

4th Im sorry I didn't get his name.. a younger guy (maybe 13?) playing Slaver

To determine 3rd and 4th.. rather than going by standings, the TO made us roll a dice (pretty lame!) So Slaver guy got 3rd prize and I got 4th prize..

Ron Saus(URWeak) played Adept or Die and top 8ed
Ellis Neilly (BaitBludgeon) played Slaver and top 8ed

I don't remeber the others sorry- but then again, I'm not the TO!

Sorry, guys. I got sick beginning of the week and then school took over...I will post them up in an hour or so..

15 people, a bit less then I wanted but full prize was given out, and I ended up giving prize out to everyone that showed up!

Meta:
Doom
RGB
WU aggro
2x Painters
2x Adnaus
White weenie
Mono Blue
Oath
2x Control Slaver
Ichorid
WGU aggro
BUG aggro

T8 was

Robert Schake (mono U) beat Stu Somers BUG Aggro
"The Game" (ichorid) beat Ron Saus UWg Aggro
Chris Lepay (Painter) beat Ellis Neilly (Slaver)
Michael Stephen (Slaver) beat Matt Banchiere AdNaus

Robert Schake beat "The Game"
Chris Lepay beat Michael Stephan

Chris Lepay beat Robert Schake

A few notes. Tourney was big blow out, lost bout $100 on prizes, but oh well. About rolling for 3rd/4th place. Prize difference was $5 and both people agreed to it so I was ok. Not having a judge was I suppose incorrect, but for my first tourney oh well. No one was really forced, but I guilted them into playing due to them testing for it for a bunch of weeks as well as them promising, but oh well. Couple comments about BUG and MonoU.

I gave Schake the deck 5 minutes before the tourney, he never played it before. The deck is crazy good. Same with BUG aggro, one of the best decks I have ever played.

Do I have a better understanding how to run this type of tournament? Yes. Would I do it again, even at the potential of a loss? Yes. I love T1 and want to continue to offer it in the Pitt/Gburg area.

Any questions feel free to hit me up
