Despite the drawbacks of only getting a small crowd due to bad overall planning of the convention (not necessarily the events), we still had more people than expected.

1.5 had 10 people, with prizes ending up being a set of Scrublands for first, and 2 FoWs for 2nd.
1st place- Brandon Adams (emidln) who epicly dropped a game to really bad u/w walls- Doomsday combo
2nd place- Peter Smutko packing 4 color threshold/fish/stuff (deck name was "What the f- is the stack"

t1 had a slightly better 12 people, with prizes ended up being 1st place chinese strategic planning, 2nd place being a pack of ITL Legends
1st place- Brandon Adams (emidln) who valiantly lost to himself several games before managing to win out on 4% tiebreaks
2nd place- Collin Mustain, who thinks emidln is his idol and plays combo slow and terrible (who draws with combo?)

Overall we had some great people show up to play, although once again the planning was off.  We made fun of LARPers who were across the room all day/night.  I'd say it was a "win" overall.

W do have next years dates for ICon, and we're aiming to put up a piece of power to bring people in to the central IL area to duke it out for it.  Will get prizes and dates up ASAP.

Hence why we're gonna try to do better next year.

Vroman and Ogre knew of it as far as I was told, but there was a local tournament to them that dealt with like a case of product (although I don't know what format) the same weekend

So game 3 after I win 2-0 and deboard (yeah, I'm the asshole who boards against UW Walls with Counterspells), I go for the helm of awakening/grapeshot stack. Awkwardly, I had desideboarded and had to go for an IGG stack with the hope that robby forgets there is a Counterspell in his graveyard. He does not. So I lost game 3 after having won 2-0.

I played Doomsday in this event too. I should never had I.D.'d with my scrub of a brother. And the only game I lost playing Vintage was in round 4 where I accidentally flipped Research/Development and Mind's Desire. In retrospect, I still should have won the game because I could have cast Research with enough mana floating to Meditate into Ritual, Lotus Petal, Yawg Will, Desire and then won by replacing Lotus, Rits, and Research/Devel for Tendrils. Unfortunately, I didn't think of this until game 2. It's not like the other games were close anyway.

I do not remember hearing about this, but Ive had a lot going on. if you're counting on stl ppl to show up, you should post events on stlmtg.com, which admitedly you may have done so and had the info lost when the site re-booted awhile ago. sorry about the mixup, I probably could have gone.

Is this Brandon Adams of High Stakes Poker fame, or another one? I really doubt it, but either way, congratulations. Looks like a really strong effort overall despite some setbacks.
