Thanks to everyone who showed up! Everyone had a great time. SWEET door prizes were also given away.
I gave away a foil Gush (signed by me). Paul Mastriano signed 4 Dark Rituals for the round 3 door prize. And Doug Linn modified a Sundering Titan as the round 5 door prize. Amazing!
22 Players, 5 rounds of swiss, cut to top 8, top 8 played out, including the Top 4. In top 8 I was paired agianst Anthony Michaels, then Brian Keil, and defeated Doug Linn in the finals, 2-0.
Top 8 had two Vintage Champions, a SCG Champion, and dozens of SCG top 8 appearances.

Seems like a good time was had by all. I am wondering how Steve wasn't DQ'd, though, with a deck that has only 56 cards. Am I correct in assuming that Duress x4 is missing from the decklist?

Thank you Steve for another well run event. Good times..
I have to say Ichorid was an AWESOME meta game call... and I truly feel my build is the most optimal build for the current environment... I broke through soooo many hate packages on the day! It's a shame that it's such a BORING deck to play!

I guess that the BUG fish list is missing some lands? My errors. I already threw out the decklists. If Twaun007 could post his proper mana base, I'll fix the list

I'm curious as to Doug's inclusion of Psionic Blast. I guess the addition of Tezzeret to other stellar targets like Phyrexian Negator finally made this a legitimate counterplay? (Maybe it already was, but Blast seemed a bit narrow when it was just killing Negators and casting Negator-fueled Armageddons on people)
Congrats to everyone! I was pretty sad that my plans to attend fell through late Saturday night. I guess you'll just have to come to my tournament so we can hang out!
Later, Dave

This tournament was neat, and a lot closer then most other ones to poor KY. I really enjoyed myself though yet again I was the only girl in the room that played >shakes fist<. Overall though I had a good time, and will likely attend any other tournaments in the area. Hopefully next time more people from KY will come up with us.

I guess that it's more a Mirror winning card, even if it shines against Storm combo manplan. Unless people start figuring that Tombstalker is a better sideboard choice than Negator.

How were the Transmute Artifacts for those that were running them? We talked about it here over the weekend as an option, but I haven't tested it yet.

Man, with that few islands, did you ever consider running Choke? Seems like it would be real good there.

My whole sideboard is me basically being cute. The Psi Blast wasn't even sided in after awhile. I thought it'd be a good flexible card for Tezz and Fish decks but I never even wanted it.
I played against Mana Drains all day long, it was glorious.
Transmute is the guy that photocopies your memo the night before the presentation and takes it to Kinko's to get bound. He's never the star but he makes a lot of other things easier.

There were so many Islands there I thought Blueman Group was going to show up and do a set. My side board was going to have 2 Bayou 1 Swamp 3 Chokes. It would have been insane. Plus there is only 17 blue cards in the deck. It would have been insane and an awesome metagame call. It was only after 10 minutes of hearing you guys laugh at my ideas that I put back in the Ichorid hate. In which I sided in zero times.

I want to know how many times you cast Acquire throughout the day that card seems crazy? Brennen

Thanks for the reply! Grats on the finish btw. I am currently trying to up the number on blue-cards in the deck due to the fact that I am having some problems getting the full utilization from Force of Will and/or Misdirection in some games. Guess Fact or Fiction is up for a test.

I only got to cast Acquire once, for Juan's Time Vault. I put it in a Gifts pile but I could have put my own Vault there anyway and won. It's kind of risky because Juan bluffed that he'd already drawn his Vault. I never tutored for it (nor did I think to) because I kind of didn't remember that it was in my deck or whether it would be good or not. Some people take out DSC, some keep it in. That slot is good, but I'm not sure if you're going to be boarding in Acquire, TFK or Tezzeret there. You need some great topdeck in the Tezz mirror.
