The 2009 GP Schedule is upon us, and while there are some major announcements in it (no more having two GPs on the same weekend, X-2 is now guaranteed to make Day 2), the most important from our point of view is that there will be a Legacy GP next year!

GP Chicago will be Legacy, and the dates are March 7-8, so everyone had better start preparing, since that's less than 4 months away.

All I can say for now is that this tournament will be amazing. I will be in attendance for sure. Also, it looks like Wizards' OP division is starting to make some more intelligent decisions finally. Notably among them:
Quote
Starting January 17-18 in Los Angeles and running through November 14-15 in Minneapolis, the 2009 season features 19 Grand Prix on 19 separate weekends. That's right, no more overlapping weekends…that means it's possible to attend every Grand Prix next season! Formats include Extended, Standard, Legacy, and Sealed Deck with Booster Draft.

The other major change for next year involves the cut to Day 2. Starting in 2009, if you go X-2 on Day 1, you've earned a spot on Day 2. That means no more worrying about missing the cut due to low tiebreakers…just avoid that third loss and your Sunday ticket will be punched.

So Jaco are you hitting the town with me during this event?  I plan on having a large celebration regardless of my finish.

Well considering I live in Chicago now, yes I'll probably be hitting the town. ; ) I imagine a decent size contingent of the OH-IO posse will be in attendance too.

I'm there for sure.  Too bad I'll probably just play Thresh like 80% of other tournament goers, but whatever, GP's are pretty awesome and I can't wait for another one practically in my backyard (and an Eternal format again too!).

So Jaco, how many couches you got available to sleep on?  I'll probably want to go out with you, Twaun, and everyone else and get COMPLETELY BLITZed.

I'll also be booking a hotel room for this event.  Given enough people, I can book up two rooms in advance.

One million percent there will be a large contingency coming from Colorado for this.

As always, I love Chicago, and this will def be a fun event.

There's a tourney in the Netherlands that offers a flight to Chi town + 3 byes + hotel + additional cards if you win the thing so if I get that I will most definately be there Smile, too bad I won't be the only one with that idea.

In any case good luck at the GP, I wish we had an Eternal GP here that would be awesomeeeee, although I can't complain about the Limited GP being just 1 hour away.

Maybe if you ever got on the NEOH boards you could mention you are looking for a spot.  As mentioned, there is a large contingent already getting stuff set up.

I'll see what I can do.  Driving out by myself from Denver isn't happening unless I find a wealthy and divorced woman to marry me in the next few weeks.

With that being said, anyone from CO driving out there and have an extra spot in their vehicle and need another denominator for the gas cost?  I drink a lot and punch sandwiches with the best of 'em.

You're going to edit yourself into that movie with Bill Murry! That is awesome.

That would be awesome.  If you could give me a rough idea of when you plan on leaving Denver and when you plan on leaving Chicago so I can call off work.  Thanks man.
