Got a question regarding when threshold would trigger when casting Cabal Ritual.

Quote
Oracle text: Add BBB to your mana pool.
Threshold - Add BBBBB to your mana pool instead if seven or more cards are in your graveyard.

Situation: 5 Cards in the yard, and I cast Cabal Ritual. I Force of Will it, and then Force of Will that force, putting 7 cards in my GY when the ritual resolves.

Will I get 5 mana or 3?

EDIT: Added oracle text and other goodies.

When you're dealing with Magic rules, it's best to try and use the terminology that the games uses.  It gets more important with more complex situations.  Threshold doesn't ever "trigger."  Thinking that it "triggers" can create confusion over how a gamestate might play out.  Threshold is an ability word with no rules meaning.  This is a change from the original wording.  It still functions the same though.  Spells create their effect when they resolve.  I look at it this way to prevent confusion -

When Cabal Ritual resolves:

Add BBB to your mana pool. BUT Add BBBBB to your mana pool instead if seven or more cards are in your graveyard.

That does make alot more sense to think of it like that. Thanks for the clarification!
