I was thinking of making fetchlands, which reward basi lands over dual lands / shock lands

Land- Mountain grass
{Tap}, sacrifice this card: search your library for a forest or a mountain card and put it into play. Shuffle your library afterwards.
If this card was nonbasic, Mountain grass deals 2 damage to you.

Not sure about the wording, but what do you think? I was thinking of : searching for basic land for no life, and paying for nonbasic for 2 life also, but I thought this was better. this would obviously become a cycle of lands.

Current Wording

Mountain trees
Land
{Tap} , sacrifice Mountain trees: search your library for a basic forest or a basic mountain card and put it into play. Shuffle your library afterwards.

Jungle Grass
Land
{Tap}, sacrifice Jungle Grass: search your library for a basic forest or a  basic plains card and put it into play. Shuffle your library afterwards.

Seaweed lake
Land
{Tap} , sacrifice Seaweed lake: search your library for a basic plains or a basic island card and put it into play. Shuffle your library afterwards.

Polluted river
Land
{Tap} , sacrifice Polluted river: search your library for a basic swamp or a basic island card and put it into play. Shuffle your library afterwards.

Forgotten hill
Land
, sacrifice Forgotten hill : search your library for a basic swamp or a basic mountain card and put it into play. Shuffle your library afterwards.

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)

I know the names arenīt the most original, so I am open to suggestions.

These are strictly better than the Onslaught fetchlands in any format without duals, shocklands, Murmuring Bosk, Dryad Arbor, or the Shadowmoor cycle.  Standard and Extended were totally defined by fetchlands for years, despite having none of these cards.  This tells me that these new ones are far too powerful.

Make the card read "If the chosen land is nonbasic, pay 3 life or it comes into play tapped", and it may just be slightly weakr than the ONslaught fetches.

That might work I guess, my main reason for these lands would be mana fixing for type2 ish decks, without making them too broken with fetching duals.

How much better are these than the Panoramas?  I know those could get three colors, but these seem significantly better than the fetchlands were in their block or the Panoramas are in this one.

Are the power level of these okay?  I tend to agree with andrewpate and they certainly feel stronger than Panoramas do.

They're not strictly better or strictly worse than anything that currently exists. I think they're fine.
