I don't have any power! Smile

I don't have bazaar and I don't think my unpowered painter deck is strong enough for this meta.

Quote
BUDGET: A Deck is considered Budget if it doesn't contain a single card among the following : P9 (see description above), Mana Drain, Mishra's Workshop, Bazaar of Bagdhad, Imperial Seal, Illusionary Mask, Grim Tutor, Library of Alexandria)

This is my starting list for this meta (never played in p9 non-budget meta before)

Creatures:
4 Dark Confidant
4 Ethersworn Canonist
4 Tin Street Hooligan
4 Mogg Fanatic
4 Wild Nacatl
3 Vexing Shusher
2 Jotun Grunt (not sure about this one :s)
2 Gaddock Teeg

Instants:
4 Swords to Plowshares

Artifacts:
4 Aether Vial
3 Skullclamp

Enchantments:
2 Rancor

Lands:
2 Bayou
3 Savannah
2 Taiga
3 Windswept Heath
3 Bloodstained Mire
3 Wooded Foothills
1 Plateau
1 Strip Mine
2 Scrubland

I know Menendian recommends 4xChalice and 4xNull Rod in every budget deck but don't feel it fits here.

How does this maindeck list look? Meta will probably be very strong since it's such a big tournament.

SB cards that looks good:

Red Elemental Blast
Ancient Grudge
Orim's Chant
Pithing Needle
Ronom Unicorn
Yixlid Jailer
?

ok, first question is why are you thinking Zoo instead of goblins, elves or something like steve's R/G beats list?  You could even build a good fish list with no power if you wanted to and that would let you play force of will.

Just sold my gobbos deck 2 weeks ago at the conflux release...Sad my bad
Elves.. http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=36980.0 looks cheap but strong... Smile
About Steve's christmas beatings I don't have goyfs and only 2 taiga...
Perhaps fish could be a good choice... uwb (because again I don't have goyfs) could perhaps be strong.

I just felt that this deck (posted above) could be good in this meta because it packed so much good hate (Tin Street, Canonist, Ancient Grudge) and other stuff against decks that runs artifacts, decks that runs blue, combo decks and decks that relies on their graveyard. But perhaps elves is stronger... or I can borrow some goyfs.

How about Shay's elves list? It's in the tourney report section or something like that.

This is my version of Vial Zoo.

Hooligan is slow.  It doesn't help you with Tezzeret.  And mostly it just eats an anonymous moxen.

You need Tarmogoyfs.  It helps that much.  I hear he's not as popular in Extended these days, so maybe it'd be easier to get him than before.

Imo, Survival is better than Skullclamp.  The bonus damage isn't as good as being able to toolbox.  Survival + Shusher/Vial is extremely strong.

Squee gives you perpetual card advantage.  I ended up putting him in the SB, 'cause I don't really have to worry about wipe effects until then.  Anger and Dryad Arbor are both cuttable, but I like them both.  Survival likely costs you a turn to set up, and Anger gets it back to you.  Additionally, Survival can cut you off being able to tutor and play creatures if you are stuck at 2 mana, and Dryad Arbor can fix that.

I've been happy with Elves/Folk.  Plays out on turn 1 and presuming you can keep  {G} open, you get it works as a nice deterrent against Vault.  I split to avoid getting multiples bounced off a Echoing Truth.  The idea to include Arbor and Anger also improve their usefulness by a lot.

I moved my Enlightened Tutor to the SB when I'm running more hate enchantments to sneak it.  Plus, this allowed me to run the 2nd Choke (which is great against many decks).  The token Pillar and Seal give me some other creature-removal proof ways to hold off opposing decks.

Path comes in against Aggro.  Pillar storm combo.  Seal Tezzeret.  REB, I'm a big fan of when I'm on the draw.

Saw a deck that played Survival of the Fittest as well but ran 4 SSG's and 2 ESG's instead of Moxen, it did ran the Black Lotus but that should be cuttable for your deck. This allowed for 4 Chalice of the Void and 4 Null Rod. Furthermore it ran Welder + some giant robots such as Triskelion, Inkwell Levithian and Platinum Angel. Also some Gorilla Shamans and a bit of a toolbox with 2 Goyfs and some artifact/enchantment kill. The designer opted against Anger as he found it win more which agreed on. He ran one copy of Squee.
Now that deck totally rocked I wish I had a list but this is as accurate as I can describe it. It may not be Zoo but it was probably the strongest unpowered deck I have seen, at least for a powered metagame. I'm not so sure how it would be in a non proxy enviroment where people will run tons of creature hate..

It sure looks kinda cheaper:

Easyer to get 4xGlimpse and 3xSummoner's Pact than 4xTarmogoyf... hmm...

Here is the deck you are talking about. At least the last version

// Red Green Control

// Lands
    4 Wooded Foothills
    2 Bloodstained Mire
    4 Taiga
    1 Mountain
    1 Forest

    3 Wasteland
    1 Strip Mine

    2 Bazaar of Baghdad

// Creatures
    4 Simian Spirit Guide
    3 Elvish Spirit Guide

    4 Goblin Welder
    3 Gorilla Shaman

    1 Tarmogoyf
    1 Ingot Chewer
    1 Squee, Goblin Nabob
    1 Stingscourger

    1 Platinum Angel
    1 Sundering Titan
    1 Inkwell Leviathan

// Spells
    1 Black Lotus
    4 Null Rod
    4 Chalice of the Void
    4 Pithing Needle

    4 Survival of the Fittest

    4 Pyroblast

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The deck is designed to be a "pain in the ass" for Control, combo and/or combo/control decks and it does the job pretty well.

The stacks matchup is pretty good : many permanents, welder+shaman and rod+strip.
The oath matchup is a very poor one (the side has to adress this pb).
The dredge matchup is not so bad even g1 (4 needle and 4 strip effects in main + platinium). Of course, some cards have to be added in side in order to deal with it.
The aggro matchup is not good (whether it is fish or shop/aggro) : only 1 tarmo is really not sufficent when you don't succeed in activating a welder. This has to be adressed with side.

In the end, this is a funny deck to play, that is pretty efficent at doing what it has been designed for.

Some cards to think about :
- root maze
- more tarmo

Some card i am not sure about :
- 1 tarmo
- pyroblast
- the 3rd elvish
- stingscourder and ingot chewer in main
