Hadley, MA Vintage Tournament for a Grim Tutor Sunday, April 19

Hello Everyone, my name is Matt and I will be hosting a Vintage Tournament at X9 Games at the Hampshire Mall in Haldey, MA right off route 9 on Sunday, April 19th. This will be the first in what will hopefully become a monthly series of Vintage Tournaments at X9 Games. I have been working with the store owner Seth for about six months now and with his help we are hoping to bring big vintage tournaments back to Western Mass. As I said before there will be a Grim Tutor garanteed for first, along with some blue dual lands, depending on the turnout and then a bunch of sweet prizes down the line, again depending on turnout. The entrance fee will be $10, as we are trying to keep this cheap for people who may have to drive a ways to get here and we will allow 10 proxies because not everyone can afford Power. A word on proxies, please make sure it is clear what card you are proxying and try to include the mana cost or other relevant information so we don't have any confusion. We are looking to Start at noon and will play swiss with a top four or top eight depending on the turnout. I hope you can all come out as i would like to continue to support Vintage in western Mass and we will see you all on Sunday!

This is awsome, and exactly the kind of events I miss playing in.  Hadley used to have a lot of these smaller tournies a few years ago and they were always a lot of fun.  Low expectations, just people comin to compete for the fun of it.  10 bucks for a day of playing magic, with the bonus of the winner getting a Grim Tutor is excellent. If I have the day off work I will surely come to this.

I will be there.  as a member of the now pretty much defunct team Hadley, I will be happy to make the trip back to the old stomping grounds.

Also, for others reference,  X9 has a pretty good sized play area, with spill over room.  There is a food court around it including a Arizona pizza kitchen with 1 dollar draft bush lite.  Scrub out? No problem.

I will be there; Used to run the T1 tournaments at X9 for a while in there before moving them over to Off The Wall games in hopes of attracting some of the 1.5 players from there. Haven't organized anything myself in a long while, too busy enjoying senior year.

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to give you all an update on the prizes. I managed to get my hands on a set of 4 foil promo Path to Exile's for second place and am working on some number of Wastelands for third or fourth as well as some volcanic islands for third. Again i am trying to find the sweetest prizes i can to give you guys for making out to our tournament. Anyhow, hope to see you all on Sunday, April 19th and if you want to suggest any prizes you would like to see for top eight i will see what i can do to find them and work them in to the prize structure. That was fun playing last night, and it was good to see Sam and Dan again. After the whole five seconds it took me to recognize Sam, I literally laughed. I remember Dan writing tournament reports on bdominia that mentioned him being 8 (right around the time Prohibit was a staple in mono U, right smmenen?) . Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this thing and would like to call out certain people to commit to being there (let us know if you're coming/not coming):

I'm pretty sure I'm maindecking six copies of You Lose, along with several copies of Maximum Pain and two copies of Extreme Discomfort.
I also found a couple of cards I hadn't consiidered that make me very happy.
