Nick is correct, if we end up getting 20 to 30 people i will try and swing a couple of Drains for first. I am also looking to put up a set of Drains or a Saphire for first at the next tournament I hold if we get a good number for this one, so come out and play. Furthermore, I have been trying to upgrade the prize pool with some sick foils and i will figure something out for the best performing budget deck too. Also we should have a really good L2 to judge this and assuming we get enough people  there should be points available for TMD ratings. I will write a tournament report so I will be collecting decklists before the tournament. See you all on Sunday and bring friends!

Team Hadley Heavy Hitters:
*Steve Houdlette (if I can count your bump as a commitment)
Brian Phelon
*Dan Richardson
*Jeff Greene
*Dave Lawrence
Mike Broughton (This ones a long shot)
Adam Bowers (haha)

Also, I'm serious about hitting up the Moan and Dove afterward.

Just noticed this.  Apparently I'm not a heavy hitter.  But hey, that's cool, you know...I'll just curl up in a corner and weep until Sunday.

If Bowers showed up, I'd make it a point to show him that I still have his STD's.

Let's extend that list:

Ray Robillard
Chris Kitzmiller
Caleb Rozwenc
Ethan
Ben Kowal
Your Brother
Dan Petrelli

Who else are we missing?

I expect a lot of people do. Didn't guess you were one of them. Caleb, sure, all pirate stylee.

Sam's coming, too.
I'd love to see Chris K there. He hasn't been drafting or anything, though.
Does Zherbus know about it?

That was fun playing last night, and it was good to see Sam and Dan again. After the whole five seconds it took me to recognize Sam, I literally laughed. I remember Dan writing tournament reports on bdominia that mentioned him being 8 (right around the time Prohibit was a staple in mono U, right smemmen?) . Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this thing and would like to call out certain people to commit to being there (let us know if you're coming/not coming):

Old School Team Hadley (* means confirmed):
*Steve Houdlette (if I can count your bump as a commitment)
Brian Phelon
*Caleb Rozwenc
*Dan Richardson
*Jeff Greene
*Matt Snow
*Dave Lawrence
Mike Broughton (This ones a long shot)
Adam Bowers (haha)

Also, I'm serious about hitting up the Moan and Dove afterward.

P.S. - I talked to Matt, and the prizes will be upped to a few drains if we get enough people. He's really set on putting all the money into the prize pool so nobody should be disappointing with the payout, especially considering it looks like we'll get quite a crowd.

P.P.S. - I'm pretty sure I'm gonna win.

Ouch at the absence of my name...I know you don't think the world of me, but I'm AT LEAST as old school Hadley as Caleb, Jeff and Dave.

RIP Mogg Fanatic...at least you are still better than Fire Bowman!!!

I was once asked on MWS, what the highest I ever finished at a TMD Open was.  I replied, "I've never played in a Waterbury.  I was then called "A TOTAL NOOB!"

Awww, poor Ray.

Nick can't help it. You know New England.
If your grandparents didn't live here,  you're not from here.
We love you anyway. Even if you did keep taking our moxen out of town.

Chris Brainerd. Now there's some old school Team Hadley. EBA, anyone?

I'm really sorry about my list and its missing names. Ray, the only two reasons I didn't put you down was because I already knew you were coming and you weren't part of the weekly Hadley vintage tournament scene (you know, the pay 5 dollars, win some packs type tournaments). When I think Hadley, I think about the people that showed up 2-3 times a week at the store to play test and compete in small (incredibly competitive) tournaments and lived locally. I definitely am looking forward to your attendance. Unfortunately Taco Bell has moved on, so there can no longer be Taco eating contests. Perhaps meatball subs. Matt, that was just a huge error on my part. I'm sorry. I realize now that I shouldn't have even tried to encapsulate all the great players I used to play with regularly onto a list. I'm basically just accidentally offending people with my subtle attempt to get Phelon to come out and play.

Unfortunately Chris K won't be playing, but my brother will be. Dan Petrelli would be an awesome surprise.

Lets try it again, holler if you're coming so we all know who to expect.

*Nick Tourloukis
*Steve Houdlette (if I can count your bump as a commitment)
Brian Phelon
*Caleb Rozwenc
*Dan Richardson
*Sam Richardson
*Jeff Greene
*Matt Snow
*Dave Lawrence
Mike Broughton (This one's a long shot)
Adam Bowers (haha)
*Ray Robillard
Chris Kitzmiller
Ethan
Ben Kowal
*Chris Tourloukis
Dan Petrelli
Steve O'Connell (I won't misjudge you out of a win this time)

I mentioned it to Dan Petrelli.  He doesn't have a deck.  Neither do I.  I could probably convince him if we can guarantee two decks

I know of a place that will have a keg the night before, too.  Is Sam up for some keg stands?

I think I have a playset of Illusions and Donates around here somewhere...

Just a kegger would be boring, but playtesting with beverages is fun.

I probably don't have an entire extra deck to lend, but I have lots of components if someone else could fill in the gaps.  Restricted pieces, control pieces, combo pieces, etc.  I don't think I'm using most of my Ad Nauseam stuff if you wanted that.  Dan Petrelli could use my Null Rods & Co., as I know he would probably gravitate toward that anyway.

Dan (Richardson), what's your cell so we can perhaps get in contact Saturday?  BTW, our band is opening at The Basement on Friday night if you'll be around, maybe we can get a drink then as well.

Brian you should definitely go.

To anyone who is having card availability issues I have a bunch of restricted cards, ie. TPS built and a bunch of duals and access to other stuff that I can lend out to help people out for the tournament. I've also been trying to stock the store with some lower priced but useful cards like Forces and Confidants to ease any availability issues. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

I think I'm playing budget (I plan on taking down 1st AND the budget prize) which means my pimp tezz deck will be up for grabs, probably missing like 8 cards so very doable Brian if you want to run that.

Question for the organizer: what time will the store be open on Sunday? I'd like to show up a bit early I think so I can put things together.

I will try to be in by 10 to get things set up. I will double check that with the Mall security to make sure the doors will be open but it should defienitely be open by eleven. I will double check this with the owner tomorow but I have a key and can get in earlier anyways.

I just double checked with the store owner and I should be getting in by 10:30 at the latest so thats a safe bet to show up for 10:30.

*Also a note on the budget category. I have been approached with two different ideas for what should classify a budget deck. The first is the normal no P9, Drains, Bazaar or Workshop, Grim Tutor, Strategic Planning or Imperial Seal. The second is none of those cards except for as proxies to allow people playing ELVES! for example, to run a proxied lotus and emerald in what is otherwise a super cheap deck to make. I will probably end up doing a prize for both of these different categories (with the larger for true budget decks with none of the afformentioned cards anywhere, and a smaller for those that proxy) if you think this is unfair feel free to offer your oppinions.

That was a good time.
Prize support was really strong for a 22 man $10 tournament.
Looking forward to the next one.

How about just doing a prize for *Most Outrageous Deck* or something of that nature?  It's pretty easy to figure out what deck is the talk of the tournament.  In this case, we had Extended Elves making it to Top 8 and also the Hermit Druid deck was pretty fun to watch too.  Although it was funnier watching the Legacy Burn deck cast Price of Progress on all it's non-basics.  It was a very fun tournament and I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Is there some form of Legacy where you can play a deck with 9 restrricted cards in it?
That, my friend, was the rebirth of The Burninator.
Still needs some work, but I was happy wiith how it played.
