NOTE: Scott Limoges deck has only 59 cards. His decklist had Vampiric Tutor listed twice! Lou Christopher's decklist only registered 56 cards!
This is not the first time this has happened and I will take responsibility for not deckchecking prior to T8 playoffs. I will see to it that this will not happen again.
Now for my brief 4th place tournament report. I took no notes while I was playing and I since I have CRS disease (Can't Remember Sh*t) my report will be short.
Rd 1 - Win (quick Stax locks for the win) Rd 2 - Win (CRS) Rd 3 - Win (CRS) Rd 4 - Loss (Ichorid blows) Rd 5 - Win (topdeck Hurkyl's Recall for the win! Take THAT Inkwell Leviathan) Rd 6 - Win (CRS) T8 - Win (double Leylines for the win!) T4 - Loss (Ichorid really blows)
Props to... Devon Gable who is 10yrs old and played in his first tournament. His dad told me before the tournament that he already had plans for the Ancestral Recall. How cool is that! Marcus Knox for making it to the finals. You owe me big time as I played in round six instead of taking the ID so you would have a chance to make it to T8. You did it - GREAT JOB! James Morton and Jesse Cardenas for running a few errands for me during the tournament. The mall for bringing a floor fan into the playing room to try to help with the heat.
Slops to... Fucking Lou and Scotty for having bad Deck Registration sheets. Ichorid (you really really suck) The mall for not making sure the A/C was working. It was 82 degrees in the backroom and even hotter in the playing room.
EDIT: Also extra double duty props to Jonathan Job for turning in a deck that wasn't his in between rounds. And also to the person who left Adam Ramsay's very expensive deck on my director's table (without telling me). Thanks for not stealing it. EXTRA DOUBLE DIPPED slops to Adam for leaving his deck where someone could have taken it.

Carl, it was a bit warm no doubt (which obviously explains the deck lists), but we did have plenty of room to play which was nice. The tournament was well run and everyone had a good time. Thanks again for hosting.
Marcus, good working making the finals man.
Congrats to Brett for taking down the show.

What do you mean correctly, you start your post out shocked that ichorid is winning again. Well if ichorid isn't winning alot then you can safely take some of the hate out of your sideboard until it starts winning again.

@troy Except on rare occaision, no one plays Ichorid at our weekly events. Therefore there is little playtesting for it. I felt that I was prepared though. Actually, in my T4 game against Brett I mulled to 4 and kept a hand of Leyline, B. Lotus, Welder, Crucible. Unfortunately I was on the draw and Brett dropped Chalice to 0. After 10-12 turns of finding NO mana, Brett was finally able to E.Charm my Leyline for the win. Sad times. But that's Vintage for you. @owen You are correct. Despite my advice to my faithful to be ready for Ichorid, too many just shrugged it off and lost easily to the monstrosity. @lochinvar81 There will be a great big party at my store if Ichorid goes away

Make it go away! Yeah...that's what I'm saying. I think with Flash and Dragon Combo decks gone, a lot of the GY hate is being traded out for Artifact hate. It's natural, really, if such a shift in sideboards is taking place. (I would note that Leyline of the Void was only the 15th most played card and Tormod's Crypt dropped to the 11th according to Morphling.de, that's quite a drop from last September which was just before all the new restrictions and printings took effect). Ichorid made up just over 5% of the top 8's in the last bi-monthly metagame report by Steven. If these signigicant showings continue, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ichorid double that next time.

Make it go away! There wasn't a list in the top 8 that didn't have at least 7 sb slots for dredge. I attribute the main problem to the fact that people don't test against Ichorid enough. Those games cause all sort of non-intuitive plays that extremely beyond most players picking up a deck for the first time. Recapping, Marcus likely punted at least one game in the finals because he waste landed his own factory at the wrong time. The fact that he realized that the correct play was to destroy his own factory at all is a testament to his creativity, but also to the fact that Ichorid is one of the hardest decks to play against. Especially in CO, Ichorid is an established part of the metagame. Its repeated wins are a testament to the skilled pilots that play the deck and not a lack of sideboard hate.

Thank you again Carl for running this I know both John and I had a great time playing some full on Vintage, I will deffinately be at the next one.
As far as the hate in the sideboards, personally I think it is not that their is not enough but instead that it is the wrong hate. Leyline, Pithing Needle, and Relic are alot scarrier than Jailer and Crypt at least in my oppinion as an Ichorid player.

I think it's a good thing that you have successfully tried a zero proxy tournament. Do you plan on holding more?

Tried? We run two sanctioned vintage events EACH WEEK! We get 8-16 players regularly. As the title of the above mentioned event indicates, this is the 10th "large" sanctioned event I've held. My last proxy event was a year ago (you may remember the thread about the pissing all over the restroom incident). I doubt there will be more proxy events sponsored by Black Gold. The 11th Vintage Extravaganza will be in September. This was brought up in another thread but I'll put my 2 cents in here....Proxy tournaments aren't financially worth it to me. Players don't need to purchase cards for these events. On the other hand, I sell hundreds of $$$ of cards leading up to my "big" events as players are fine tuning their decks. This makes it financially feasable for me to run them. In my little world here in the Denver area this translates into "Proxys hurt vintage". That is coming from a TO's standpoint.

2 Glen Elendra Liege, really? I think that these are supposed to be Glen Elendra Archamages, in the 3rd place deck's side board. Otherwise, I liked to why they were used.

This is not the first time this has happened and I will take responsibility for not deckchecking prior to T8 playoffs. I will see to it that this will not happen again.
If you are playing, and this is sanctioned, why are you responsible for deck checks?
