I will be coming.

"Holy rusted metal Batman!" MuzzonoAmi will be making an appearance! Does this mean we might see the reemergence of Kris Mage Workshop Aggro or Radiclies Enchantress? The anticipation is turning my stomach in knots.

ps. good to hear from ya man.

Unfortunately, it's starting to look unlikely that I'll be able to attend this event. I hope those of you that get to go have fun; this seems like it should be a blast!

Good to hear from one of the Ohio folks, at least. Being done with undergrad has left me with time to play again (woot), as well as with the money to do so. I don't know what I'll be playing yet, but I'm tempted by the newly legal 4x Enlightened Tutor. There's gotta be some angle to work there. Or maybe I'll just play Tezz.

I found out today that my boss is cutting my hours to 1 to 2 days a week. I don't think with that huge pay cut I will be able to attend this event. I wish I could but with the lack of money and no telling if my hours will get stable again or just keep it as they are I shouldn't take any chances.

In order to cater to all of the folks traveling and wanting a weekend of Vintage, Mr. Nice Guy Games will be hosting a vintage event Sunday August 2nd!!! That's right, day two of Steel City!! -The information can now be found on the initial post.

Also, preregistration is still happening; don't forget to sign up (it's free!) and you can win prizes!

This actually seems less appealing to go to, based on day 2.  Here I was hoping that day 2 prizes were insane, yet I find out that if theres 40 people, at 30 dollars a piece, (700 in prizes) that if I win, I'm guarenteed only like, 25% of the prize pool.  Yet 2nd, 3rd, and 4th get the same prize?  I'd much rather have a topheavy prize support.

I thought you said hanging out with your friend Twaun P. Pownertown was worth more than any prize that could be offered.?.

Attendance of day 2 in regards to big events has always been notoriously low compared to day 1. I don't think you saw the 3rd line in SwampSwampSwampNecroonturn3's post, Prizes scale upwards based on attendance. I am sure that if there are over 100 people day 2 that the prize will be increased.

No, it looks like Prize Support goes outwards.  If he has 100 people, so far it looks like 1st - 8th gets a Mishra's Workshop.

I'm there.

Hmmmm... This was before we ever decided to add a day 2, which we did because we do understand folks travel and wanted to make it worth the drive; it's funny how things have changed.

If you do not wish to play for these prizes and attend the event, that's your choice. The tournament will occur if you are present or not. (Although in the past, I have enjoyed meeting you and do hope to see you again)

I wish  people would sit back and take a moment to think about what goes into an event before they comment. I'll admit, things might not be perfect or to everyone's approval, but as a non-store owner organizing this soley because I love the format, I'm trying to do my best to cater to everyone (which of course, isn't possible) and have a good time.

Day two is being handled by Mr. Nice Guy Games. In the past, the store has done an amazing job on prize support and this is and will be no different. Ron, the owner and TO for day two, and I had a talk about prizes and I suggested Shops. With the recent B & R updates, these have become even more popular. I for one am excited to play for these. Also, I've already had people comment to me that it will make splitting easy as those from out of town will probably want to get on the road sooner than later.

I don't know about you guys, but I would have gone to Day 2 without Day 1.  Mr. Nice Guy is a great store with great tournaments and prizes that regularly go above and beyond what expected, promised, or necessary.  I cannot wait for this weekend (even though there's Chicago in between).

I will also be bringing several Sandwich Punch t-shirts as extra prizes.

I suggest having a PA Turnpike refund prize.

Yeah  the more I think of the sunday support, the more I realize that splitting that is much much easier.

Jimmy McCarthy is forcing me to come, since I did well at the open.   So I'm in.

We definitely need a team compitition if there isn't.  Team Serious wrecked the ICBM Open last week.  1000% serious.

I second the team competition thing.  It would have been pretty sick this weekend on chicago and I expect good crews from Meandeck, GWS, ICBM, and hopefully some of the Easterners as well.

I often wonder if people read the entire tournament announcement:

The Dan Herd Team Memorial
In the spirit of community and Dan Herd, who recently passed at the young age of 25, I present the Dan Herd Team Memorial.

Entry Fee: Minimum Donation of $10 per team of three.
All proceeds will be donated to the Daniel Herd Memorial Fund, care of Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust, 120 Main Street, PO Box 708, Phoenixville, PA  19460

The Prize: Bragging Rights and More Important, Your Team Name will be Etched onto the Dan Herd Team Memorial Plaque. Any TO running a large event, is welcome to continue this tradition and add to the plaque. (I will be happy to mail the plaque to any TO in the country.)

This is a chance to honor a friend and player who loved this game, this format and his team.
