This is my first TO Report so this is a bit new to me but here goes! Well I’d like to thank everyone who came out on Sunday for the first in what will hopefully become a monthly series of Vintage tournaments that I will be hosting in Hadley. Top eight deck-lists will be posted as soon as I can get them from Greg, who by the way, I’d like to thank for volunteering his time to Judge and help run the event.
Our total turnout was 22 and I’d like to make a big shout-out to everyone who came out to play. Also, I’d like to give props to Noah Walker (he’s really 12) who piloted an Extended ELVES! deck with almost no additions to a top 8 finish. Seth (the store owner) was really good about helping me find prizes and hooking them up for a good deal which was a definite help in making this all possible. So, on to the results!
Quarterfinals: (8) Daniel Villamizar def. (1) Sam Richardson (5) Jesse Martin def. (4) Chris Roberts (6) Caleb Rozwenc def. (6) Jeff Green (2) Ray Robillard def. (7) Noah Walker
Semifinals: (5) Jesse Martin def. (8) Daniel Villamizar (2) Ray Robillard def. (6) Caleb Rozwenc
Finals: (5) Jesse Martin def. (2) Ray Robillard
The Finals saw Jesse playing TPS beat Ray playing a red controlling build 2-0 to take home the top prize of a Grim Tutor.
***I will try to get the deck-lists up as soon as I can.***
I will try to figure out the Next free weekend I have and post our next tournament as this one was a success and I will leave you with a question as to what you would like to see for prizes at my next tournament. I can either go for something like another Grim Tutor, Imperial Seal, Time Vault, or some Drains, or I can go for a smaller first place like a set of Tropical or Volcanic Islands which would be interchangeable with like a $100 first prize and then put a lot more into the rest of the top eight prize structure. I figure for $10 entry, winning a hundred bucks or a set of duals is still pretty sweet, and this would allow me to make a really good rest of the top eight prize pool so a lot of people go home with sweet prizes. Let me know your thoughts and keep in mind that I will definitely be holding power tournaments by the start of next semester.
Again thank you all for coming out and I look forward to holding more of these events. Please feel free to post your own reports and if anyone is in the area I am going to be at the store on Tuesday nights to start testing/playing. Also I will try to get more details on how the top eight matches went but I could use all of your help in piecing this together as I was also running the register.

Sounds like a fun tournament.
Congrats to Jesse Martin, whom I faced at the Waterbury. It sounds like you've really perfected your game!

Well this 12 year elves pilot has nothing on that 11 year old tezzeret pilot in Europe. Man, Europe really starts them early!

Somebody tell Chapin how counterbalance works?
"Of all the major Vintage archetypes that exist and have existed for a significant period of time, Oath of Druids is basically the only won that has never won Vintage Championships and never will (the other being Dredge, which will never win either)." - Some guy who does not know vintage....

I'm typing up my top 8 report as I speak, but I'm at work so it's not going quickly. I'm going to have it up late tonight hopefully. Oh, and TPS mirror in Top 8 sucks. Especially when it's your friend. Thanks for the great event, Matt. PM me if you need anything. Like prizes, lol. :-p

This is Jesse, it was a very fun tournament, i had a blast. I am going to attempt to type up a tournament report in the near future, though i didn't take notes so sorry if i forget peoples names, and thank you for the kind words Steve, i'm always trying to up my game by playing the hell out of this deck, but thanks to the help of weekly vintage and playing against great opponents like ELD, Rich, and a host of other great opponents there regularly have really upped my game a lot, i suggest going there to anyone who wants to get in some top notch playtesting against great competition.

Matt, I posted my tournament report, so if you can get any locals to help me out to fill in blank memories, that'd be awesome.
