Does anybody else find it a little strange that the Champs are being held on a Friday? Basically, anybody who works cannot attend. I imagine this is going to be a smaller event than usual.

Honestly, 2nd place might as well be for a stick of gum. We long ago accepted that the prize support for the Vintage Champs is terrible and that you're basically playing for 1st place and bragging rights.

In past years, Legacy Champs has been on Friday and Vintage Champs has been on Saturday.  This year they just switched the order.  Fair is fair, I guess.

This.  It's all about the painting and the glory.  Anything else is just a disappointment (trust me, I know).

Either way, this shit will be awesome, my first time at Gen Con, look forward to seeing everyone out to this! sucks that it is friday though, would have preferred it on the Saturday.

I'm pretty sure I'm going.  I either need to find power to borrow, soon, or start the arduous task of building the perfect metagame deck.

Even if you don't win, it's an incredibly fun event to attend regardless.  There are never-ending Vintage tournaments and drafts and the like day and night.

Plus, I think there was a Colts game going on last time we went, and we took a peek.

Lots of artists.

Friendlier people (at least compared to out here in NE).

Klingon Jail.  Stormtroopers as security.

Steak & Shake.  White Castle.

Well I consider White Castle a tastey laxative. If your plumbing gets stopped up, have a couple sliders and in moments you'll be free flowing. Having this remedy at your disposal is definitely a plus.
